Suicide Squad (2016)

Well you are all wrong.

Was a real royal romp, really enjoyed it.

The only person who I thought was a bit crap was the army dude who was meant to be in charge of them.

Other than that a good movie well worth a watch.

It's not a bad film, I think the critics are generally too harsh on this but it has potentially for much more.

I like

1 - The villain, in fact i wanted to see more
2 - Special effects were pretty decent
3 - The first chapter was very good
4 - The back story are very interesting and I feel they could have done more with that, interested to see the extended cut

I only checked my watch once, so it held my attention well.

Just got back, it's the first film I've watched in 4dx where it was less than half capacity. Might be due to it being the 10am showing though.

I enjoyed it for what it was. Can tell why Jared Leto is abit let down he must be in for less that 10 minutes screen time.

The mid credit scene is worth sticking around for.

Tbh, I was the only one of us that 'bothered' to watch Batman Vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (and have since seen the 'extended' cut), and reported back that it was unbelievably ****.

I have a feeling they're coming with this time to see just how bad these films are :p.

When is this set, or do we not get specific reference?

People mention backstory, but are we likely to see a Batman film based prior to BvS where Robin gets killed by Leto's joker?

The reviews on this thread make me not want to watch until an ultimate edition is available, which is terrible as I was really looking forward to this.

Really enjoyed it.

I loved the first hour or so with the build up/character background. Actually liked Jai Courtney, and he has sucked in pretty much every film going. The more I see Affleck as Batman, the more I like him.The only criticisms .....

1) Did not think Leto was that great as the Joker. IMO Ledger was signifcantly better

2)The ending climax seemed a little too sudden. Also the Enchantress and her brother were built up as basically earth killers, and they were pretty lame when it came to the crunch

Poor show

The material they had to work with and that's the best they could offer

I really would love to see DC pull something out the bag but this certainly is nowhere near

Although margot Robbie is fantastic and as much as it pains me to say it so was will smith

Disjointed, didn't flow well, pointless main villain. Joker was painfully underused...still really enjoyed it though, it was at the end of the day entertaining.

Will Smith and Jai Courtney surprised me, generally dislike them, they were quite good.

Goes without saying Robbie stole the movie, can't wait for a solo Harley Quinn movie and hopefully a Joker one too.

I don't think Leto's Joker had enough on screen time to form a decent opinion, he was really creepy and I would not want to be near him in reality. Not a patch on Ledgers joker though.

I loved the mid credits scene, Batfleck is the best thing to come out of the last two DC efforts.

Wtf was the point of having Harley Quinn in this? Everyone else had some useful kind of ability so they would be included in "suicide squad", hers seemed to be having an irritating accent.

T&A was really the only reason she was included.

Thankfully the Eyebrow monster doesn't get much screen time...

I quite enjoyed it, by no means a stormer but better than I expected based on the reviews.

My word though, that Margot Robbie.

I think there is a good film in there somewhere, the movie clearly went through a massive re-edit since the release and box office numbers from Deadpool and the studio saw that the audience have an appetite for a funnier and light hearted movie. If you look at the first trailer from a year ago to the last one, and it's marketing, it went from dark to almost peppy.

Alongside with Leto's interview saying they have tons of unused footage led me to believe and am convinced they did this theatrical edit quite late and different to the original script.

A shame if that's true - a film should find it's own identity rather than trying to copy other successes, especially Deadpool which is totally different thematically compared to this and the entire DC stuff which on the whole is darker/more gritty.

I actually quite enjoyed this, I was expecting it to be complete unadulterated trash after the reviews it was getting. I am no comic book reader so I had no real knowledge about the film bar the trailers.

Margot Robbie and Will Smith put in some good performances. In fact I felt bonded to the group in the end.

The Joker seemed a little....added on if that makes sense. But maybe it sets up a follow on film and all that jazz.

My goodness that special forces lead bloke what's-his-face was awful.

But overall for entertainment value id probably go 6.5/7 out of 10. A definite improvement over BvS for me.
