We want feedback on the Overclockers UK Booths in GAME Stores

There are more and more GAME stores across the UK that are displaying PC gaming hardware all provided by Overclockers UK!

We had feedback saying to open one in London, and now we have... In Westfields London! :)

But bloody time, nice one guys. I'll have a gander next time my wife decides that life is too fun I'm around there.

What are the prices lime compared to online, and how does it affect your profit? If you get less per sale than online I'll probably just order online tbh.

I popped into game the other day in Cardiff noticed the OCUK system was on but it was not possible to load at games.

All needed a sign-in of some sort, Staff clearly doing a good job in there.

That's cool but what about the poor feedback given in this thread, has anything been done to address the switched off machines gathered in dust etc as from the description it's not helping?

This has been addressed, unfortunately this is something we cannot resolve, but we have highlighted it to GAME.

I'm sure the ps4 and Xbox one booths will have a game demo on them most of the time. Maybe you can put the same game on a demo on your booth and people will see the difference.

I would love to go in and have a look at one in Liverpool. Don't like PC world. Always put of date stuff and costing the same as it was at release.

Its always good to try out new peripherals atleast. Mouse and keyboard especially when they can cost over £80 each.

Why not stick the amazing looking 8pack asteroid rig in there? Doesn't have to have the pick of the parts just the awesome aesthetics.

Why would you allow it, it tarnishes your brand.

I must agree with this.

When I lived in Holland, they had a chain of toy stores called Bart Smit. I could go in to any branch and play the demos they had on display. Here however, I can count on one hand the amount of GAME stores I've been in where they have one (note: one, not all, just one) display stand working. Missing controllers, broken screens, not turned on at all, you name it, they just never work. Seems they're doing the same with the OcUK kit, just plonking it there and letting it rot. Very poor effort from GAME and it's certainly not going to make you guys look good.

I think this is a superb idea. I haven't seen any personally but I have a recommendation. You need to really grab those punters. You need something really pretty to do this, not just your typical hearing aid beige case. At the end of the day you are not attracting the young eyes, you are attracting the parents that can afford the systems. So appeal to them.

Use brightly coloured aluminum cases. Something that shows care and attention. Spend time on those builds. You could even build your designs into occasional furniture, down the line of course. Also, unless you already have done, you should also focus on a 'laptop specialist' area.

This is such a good idea to appeal to the masses, but it needs implementing correctly. Well done.

I'll make a point of checking out the Gloucester one the next time I'm there, should be next month.

Hey guys, am I right in thinking that there is some sort of trade-in available for old hardware? I seem to recall reading this somewhere when these booths opened.

Specifically referring to the one in Glasgow Braehead as that's the one I'd be visiting?

Cheers.

I notice you've got a huge ATX case on that display. Is that really what people want in 2016? Big-ass ATX tower cases?

With consoles getting slim models, and designs which fit nicely in your living room, I question whether these massive tower cases are just out-dated.

Could be wrong, just thinking out loud :)

Popped into Newcastle GAME earlier to find that they'd downsized their already pathetic PC section. When I asked why they'd got rid of the majority of the PC section and if they were ever going to have an OcUK section the answers were, "dunno" and "what?" respectively.

This is the PC section now, just five titles and a load of game cards.
