I used to carry it all the time but I lost my wallet recently. So have been taking the non essentials out sometimes. Not sure how long this will last. Got ID checked yesterday buying beer. Luckily I had it.

In the 60/70's when I was a rocker I always carried mine as we were flagged down on a regular basis by foot plod.

One night when I was flagged down it was raining and plod said - Got ya license mate - No I said thinking I ain't getting it wet and I heard him curse under his breath- Out came his note book and he wrote down all my details - gave me the slip to show it and said on your way -

On my way was 50yrds down road to cop shop - so handed form over and desk jockey said this has just been issued - Yep.

It seems not showing your license was a hassle for plod so I have never carried it since - They stop me they can fill in all the forms. :D:D:D

On my learner friendly 250cc I was stopped similarly every week, often by the same cops who knew me and I knew them. So they had a whole book full of the same people with notices to produce. At least it kept them busy I suppose.

Traded up to a 650 Triumph and rarely was stopped after that. Strange.

Keep it in the little section in my wallet designed for a picture ID. Much easier to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

I've had to use mine twice for ID this last week, once at the PO, and once for the DPD driver delivering my new phone.

I always carry mine just in case I get stung by a Queen wasp and my body blows up to the size of a small car. Just so they can identify me, you can never be too careful.. :):)

If I didn't carry mine all the time I can pretty much guarantee I'd never remember to take it when I needed it, like picking up a parcel etc.

To be honest the idea of not carrying it has never really occurred to me. I don't really understand why anyone would not want to carry it. If I lose it... I'll get another one. I haven't lost it yet, and I'm 32.

Edit: I did lose my wallet once actually at an airport but my license wasn't in it because I was going on holiday!

As stated in the other thread I never carry it on me. It just sits in the car.

I see one reply from someone based in NI and it's funny to see they also keep it in the car!

Why are you all collecting so many packages? I just get mine left around the back of the house and there's never been an issue.

I never used a wallet either until the other day when I decided I would try and keep my card in better shape. And I just have the one card and none of these cards for shops or any other crap.

Yes, but that's because it's a legal requirement to have your documents on your at all times where I live.

I can't believe that the UK does not legally require you to have your documents when driving. Madness.

I used to carry my paper licence till it disintegrated, didn't bother carrying it after I replaced it and haven't bothered since I got the card one either.
I always use my bank or credit card to collect parcels.

Yep, I seem to have to use it semi regularly for ID (not drinking related), so no reason not to have it in there.

On the other hand I don't carry my NI card with me, which a lot of people seem to do. That's just asking for trouble and Identity theft.

I still have an old paper licence as I haven't move house since they introduced the plastic one. I carry it in my motorbike jacket, so if I'm on my bike, it's there. If I'm in the car, it's not ;)
