I game only on PC, but have a standard Xbox One controller and a Wireless Adapter for Windows and use them for most of my games. I'm having a serious look at the Elite controller and I'm probably going to buy it, but wanted to know what users who actually have it think of it?

Originally I was completely set because I thought the paddle buttons were completely independent and could be mapped to keyboard inputs which would have been extremely useful. Then I found out they aren't independent but it looks like they're still potentially very useful for using other buttons without taking your fingers off the analog sticks.

I heard they potentially lose grip but I always look after my products and don't have sweaty hands at all, so I'm not worried about this.

But yeah what do users actually think? Is it worth buying?

I bought one and ended up returning it, didn't see the point of having duplicated buttons on the paddles, I too thought it was independent paddles.

If it was £60 I'd probably pick one up again but £100/£110 I don't think it's worth it, I couldn't warrant spending £109 just because it felt 'nice'.

I got mine with Halo 5 for £90 after vouchers, and I think it's worth it. It may be worth trying the new XB1 S pad, as also has textured grips now. I accept it's a lot, but I also travel a lot so having a decent carry case and knowing which controller is mine at parties is useful too :)

If the new controller was how the controller was from the start, I would have struggled to justify it. The paddles I like because you can keep your thumbs on the sticks, but it would have been better if they were independent buttons.

I've used mine quite a bit. Still looks the same as it did the day I bought it. Even after sweaty hands, long sessions and the occasional drop. :D

I pre-ordered one before release I I tired one at game show. It is expensive but it feels very well built and the weight is nice, I'd say it's worth it.

The reason I am thinking of getting one is that I heard that the D-pad is really great for fighting games.

Would be great to hear that confirmed...or denied lol.

Mine is arriving tomorrow. I'll give an update after I've used it for a bit. The things I'm worried about is the weight and the paddles getting in the way of my natural grip. Will see how things are.

The paddles are removable and you can also turn them off with a button on te front of the pad.

I got mine on release and love it. You can tweak it to how you like it, I use the paddles to replace things like clicking the stick for sprint, jumping etc.

Is it expensive? Yes

Have I got enough use out of it to justify the price? Most definitely.

Its a personal choice though. I really love it.

I love mine and the fact I can map L3 and R3 onto the paddles means its lasted me the distance. Before this I went through 3 normal pads as the left stick kept getting stuck and developing drift. The paddles barely stick out at all so they dont get in the way

Bought mine to replace my 360 controller for PC use. Overall its great, shoulder buttons are a huge improvement over the 360 and the face buttons are very nice too. It has a very nice feeling rubbery kind of coating all over and the paddles on the back are great for games like dark souls and rocket league as you can have all the face buttons mapped to them so there is never any need to remove your thumbs from the sticks.

My only complaint is that the paddles can only be mapped to duplicate other controller buttons. I would love to be able to map keyboard keys to the rear buttons like you can with the steam controller. No idea why MS hasn't implemented that.

Overall, its expensive but feels like it is a premium device and come with a bunch of very nice features you don't get with the standard controller. I would urge caution for anybody thinking of buying one right now though as MS has just released the new xbox one S controller with bluetooth built in so they may do an updated elite controller with bluetooth. No more wifi dongle needed if thats the case!

Had a 20 minute play with it. Love the upper paddles - feel so natural. I prefer to rest my ring fingers on the back but when I first held the controllers my fingers were on all four paddles so naturally. Weight is a non issue so far, can't really tell the difference to be honest.

One thing that's slightly annoying is the RB click is really tight and nice, but the LB click is a little loose, so they feel really different to one another and it's quite off-putting. Click buttons always feel different though - the left and right click on even high end mice can feel very different from one another.

Feels really comfortable compared to the normal Xbox One controller. The rubber material on the front and the grip at the back makes a huge difference.

I like it but don’t use the paddles as I hit them accidently, think I would go for an Xbox One S controller now.

Hows your shoulder buttons? RB and LB? Do they click the same or do they feel different? How tight are they? My RB barely has to be clicked to register. Feels great - wish my LB was like this.
