Keep or sell: Strix OC 1080 vs Amp Extreme 1080

I bought a Amp Extreme 1080 last month when I got tired of waiting for my Strix OC to arrive, I then forgot about my illusive Strix OC which is now on it's way :x

Generally I'm happy with the Zotac so I'm leaning towards sticking with it under the presumption that I shouldn't see much gain from changing to the Strix OC. Anyone have any thoughts on the difference between the two cards?

If you had a blind GPU test in any game you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the two. If you're happy with the Zotac and it's giving you zero problems then you've got your answer mate.

I wish I could afford to forget about £600+ gpu's lost out in the aether

I have to consider Heinz beans over Tesco's as playing a bit loose with the budget :D

Yeah that makes sense, I'm leaning that way; keep the Strix boxed and pass it on

It's more of a testament to my poor organisational skills than it is to my finances!

Test it in sli for a few days and return it. ;)

Yeah this is my reasoning for considering selling rather than refund.

It's weird, the Strix was my first choice and I waited a long time for it so it has that strange allure. The Zotac is solid though, it probably deserves to stay
 
I would normally say keep the fastest one.

But since Amp extreme are speed binned and on average are giving the highest boost clocks and since the Asus can be sold at a premium, sell the Asus.

If you are just going to return it, may as well test it and see if it beats your zotac.
 
Step back, don't hurry to flog it.
Why you do not return it if is still sealed? Did you bought it from OC UK?

I would be interested but do not like ASUS support, and second hand warranty transfer might not work. Just send it back.

Beans??! In my day I'd have to walk up hill both ways in the snow, with no shoes, for a half-eaten celery stick and a mouldy carrot. And all the while geese would be biting my ankles. And even then if I ate it all I'd get a thrashing with a studded belt (if I was lucky) for being greedy.

You've got it easy. We used to dream of Tesco's own-brand beans.
