Suicide Squad (2016)

I watched this yesterday and I enjoyed it, this thread left me with such low expectations that I was very pleasantly surprised.
I think Leto could be a wonderful Joker.
Some of the film seemed like an origins movie, lots of flashback. Seeing some of those backstories expanded, specifically the joker would be nice.

I want to see a film that shows the death of robin, we have never had anything like it, but this aludes to it, bvs did also, but I think they are moving forward not backwards.
A batman film could be interesting.

I just got back from watching it again. I like it even more now.

I think Jared did an excellent job of being the Joker on the second watch.

There is a tattoo on Jokers arm with an arrow through a robins heart. If we get a solo Joker/Quinn movie, I would imagine it'll go back to this story.

I like what i've seen of Leto's Joker so far but with about 5 minutes of screen time, it's hard to judge him against Ledger/Nicholson. Leto is a proven talented actor and I think we need more of him in this role.

Saw this last night, had tried to avoid spoilers/reviews but heard some pretty harsh things. It wasn't bad and it wasn't amazing. I was entertained for 2 hours, more so than BvS for sure.

Not sure what all the media talk about leto being mental on set and with the cast etc was for, he was only in the movie for what, 6 minutes screen time total? He can't have been around much to annoy them!

It was more of a Deadshot + Harley movie than a full squad. Bommerang guy was pointless. Also is Harleys bat magical or something? In that scene in the street where they fight all the monster things, they first start by trying to go around them because "our conventional weaponry has no effect". One minute later she's killing them with a baseball bat. Did I miss something??

Indeed Leto said there is over an hour of Joker footage lying on the cutting room floor.

The movie is a total hatchet job, with all the re-shoots its obvious that what came out in the cinema is nothing like what was originally intended and most of it seemed to change quite late into finalising it.

Went to see this with expectations of it being average. I really enjoyed the film tbh, liked the tone and thought there some decent performances especially Deadshot and Harley. I'm quite pleased the Joker only had a limited role as they will no doubt have him in the standalone Batman film. Looking forward to getting it on blu-ray to see the cut scenes.

Just back from seeing this was pretty disappointed in the lack of the joker. Some of the jokes fell flat and it was really only saved by harley :D

Seen this tonight, was OK. Won't rush to see it again, felt like a typical Will Smith movie. Which isn't a bad thing, but it had potential to be much greater.

Jokes felt like an addon, and some of the acting was a bit dry. Least it was easier to follow than BvS. This was set before that, right?

After. There was a bit at the beginning, with the dude with the T-Shirt and quick shot from the end of BvS.

They mentioned that Superman wasn't around in some way, implying it was set after BvS.

Slipknot, what a great character. I'd imagine the actor will be very annoyed. If he did more and it got cut it makes him look like an unused extra!

He was always meant to die in the movie. There were backstory/flashback scenes filmed but they cut them out. The consensus was that they didn't want to waste time on creating a connection with a character that is gone within 5 minutes of starting the main mission.

Joker was terrible wasnt he just some green hair punk with metal teeth or somit. Kinda like a fake joker from a low budget copy cat film that sometimes comes out during big aaa movies. I still reckon jack from batman 1 was the best joker.

I'm the Joker baybee.

That guy is better than Leto.

Had free tickets to Odeon and there wasn't anything else that remotely appealed so went to see this expecting it to be a total mess.

My expectations were confirmed. Awful, scatty mess. Just as bad as Batman vs. Superman, just in a different way. Whether the film was actually recut by a music video company or not, it certainly felt like it. Just loads of random scenes spliced together.
