I have received the phone. Ordered from Top One on Thursday and arrived today Tuesday, only one issue... The MIUI 8 doesn't seem to have United Kingdom, Great Britain, or England in the locale options???

My Redmi 3 Pro went black yesterday and wouldn't respond to anything anymore. Did a soft reset (pwr + vol button) and it's all good now. First time since May that I've had any sort of problem with the Chinaphone.

Survived 5 days on a charge though :D

Will flash MIUI 8 on it tonight as I hadn't done that yet.

Lol, fingers crossed mate that they keep bringing out phones like this, they are battery monsters and they are not that heavy.

Yeah man, obsolutely love it. Don't need the highest end most power consuming CPU and 5.5" 4k screen either so overall I think this is the perfect phone for me :)

What phone do you have then?

Installed MIUI 8 last night, seems solid so far. Like that I now don't have to swipe between notifications and quick toggles so I don't keep deleting notifications or adjusting my screen brightness on accident.

Also thinking of installing the HTC Sense 8 launcher cause it'll give me an app drawer and everything. Anyone know if I can run specific parts of it (IE ap drawer) but block others. I actually like the square icons in MIUI, it looks a lot cleaner cause they're in a grid anyway.

The one thing I dislike about MIUI is menu for open apps. You can either only see tiny icons, but even then it's just a row of 4 at a time while the rest of the screen is empty, or you get a full preview but it only fits one on the screen at a time. Any way to get something closer to stock?

Both redmi note 2 and 3 pro mate. I have not tried that launcher, I tried the google now one and it was ok, but I like MIUI.In the open apps menu you can pinch to zoom to see the full app open and not just the icon if that makes sense.

Nova is pretty simple looking, like stock android, I thought.

The problem with MIUI is you don't get the android like expandable floating notifications - they are there, but they look different. I find I use this all the time for whatsapp notifications. With MIUI 7, you had to do a two finger swipe down, which rarely worked for me. Not sure if MIUI 8 has addressed this.

Yeah I know about that (there's also a button for it in the menu itself in MIUI8 now) but then you only get one app at a time on your screen. Just neither is great tbh, I'd rather have the stock Android carousel-like thing.
