I have a dilemma currently as I already have an EVGA GTX 980 Ti and would like to upgrade.

Given the current price drops on 980Ti's do I buy a second now and get my SLi on or do I sell the 980Ti and drop the cash plus some on a new 1080?

Thoughts ?

tough one...

personally id stay with a single card, that doesn't mean SLI won't be good, last time I was running SLI was with 780 tis but my best experience with SLI was with 780s, since the 780tis I've only done single and it is a slighter nicer experience, I would either hold out for a new card or grab the 1080

What resolution do you play at, and what is the refresh rate of your monitor? If you're at 1080p/60hz not much point in upgrading. Even at 144hz 1080p a 980ti is enough.

Me personally I will go for single 1080 which im I already purchase so hopefully it should arrive tomorrow. :D
Coming from R290x in crossfire to be honest most of my games run better in solo.

Good luck.;)

by the looks of his sig rig I reckon a asus rog swift 144hz 1440p

the 1080 should do well, can't help but think the 980tis might nab few more fps but at the cost of space/heat, slightly less support now and then

Yep 1440p 144hz.

I'm totally torn. From what I can see the 980Ti SLi would lunch a single 1080 in pretty much most things. However the 1080 provides better future proofing and upgrade potential and probably future driver support

980Tis will be the better choice. 1080 only 20-30% at most faster than a 980Ti. In SLI they are still faster than a single Titan X pascal.
