Forum podcasts

I'd be up for doing this on occasion. I work in radio if that counts for anything. I'm not a presenter or anything, but I could always get tips from them! Could be something similar to Linus' WAN show

Been on the radio a number of times / interviewed.

It would have to be careful on here; the better idea in my opinion would be more hardware based, couldn't imagine a podcast talking about threads about ** that is not an appropriate term - EVH ** or how the police were right to shoot that unarmed black man would be all that popular :p, or about how Farage should be PM and Brexit was the best idea ever.

I'd imagine a forum podcast to be discussing the discussion more than re-discussing the issues from those discussions. (ie talk about how threads went down rather than trying to resolve them)

Otherwise it would just be an interminable spoken word version of GD, or the awful GPU forum

As per Tummy's opinion it would probably be better to keep it mostly hardware focused and therefore relevant to the shop. It is one thing for posters to post their own opinions on forums but if you've got an OCUK branded podcast talking about, for example, politics it probably isn't something a business ought to be comfortable with as any contentious issue will be polarizing and unlike forum posts there is a greater implied association with the company. I'd suspect that, in order to be workable, you'd have to exclude politics and religion from it if it was covering some GD threads.

i.e. 'Do you use talc after you shower?' fine

'Brexit thread - what happens next' avoid/do not discuss

Tbh it doesn't need to be ocuk branded. You could just have a thread with a link to the stream/channel and info about when it's on in the OP and the topic requests etc in the rest of the posts. If mods don't like it they lock the thread. Would make sense to set it up as a youtube channel so you could a) archive them and b) embed them in a thread.

Actually that is more or less how it works on the other forum (although it is partly organised by the forum owner, they are not co-branded or on the same sites).

I reckon this is quite easily done then. Host streams, guests jump into a closed teamspeak, mumble or discord channel. Viewers watch and chat in youtube chat. Just a question of whether the content quality could be high enough to actually be worth watching. Maybe short sessions like 5 to 10 mins would offer a more focussed discussion that covers more bases.

How long are they on this other forum skidder?

Usually about an hour. But it is call in too, so other forum members dial in with questions and comments on Skype. They do some prep so it's not total chaos

Might be good to see if we could get 8pack on to comment on the new pascal lineup and put some of the graphics forums questions to him
