Hey guys.

Need some of your wisdom please.

Looking for a new paid of headphones. I will use these to game and at the gym connected to my edge 7. I don't have a amp for the PC but I can use the motherboard for now. Anything will be an improvement on the Apple earphones I'm using now.

I have done some research and was thinking of a paid of open backed ones although I don't think these will be ideal when at the gym? Is the noise leakage quite noticeable?

I need to price to be under £100. Also don't mine using warehouse deals.

Thanks

Wow that was quick thanks.

How do these rate against the DT770s ? See them a lot on here.

Well the DT770's are not what I would call portable by any means, they are quite a lump and the non-detachable cable is massive. If you were looking at the DT770 then I would recommend the AKG K550 MKII myself. Still not really portable but better all rounders than the DT770's. I'ver had both and kept the AKG's.

The Philips will see you good at home and at the gym and will have no issues being driven from your phone or motherboard.

Many of their older headphones were poor, but since they've been taken over, the quality has improved. The Solo2's seem to much better than their earlier efforts.

I think for a fair few people who are interested in good audio though, the Beats brand has been forever tarnished by their earlier poor headphones, and they will always get some ridicule even their new products are pretty decent.

The original Solos were crap. Studios were not great but fun. Mixr, Pro, Studio2013 edition, Solo2 are all good headphones.

Id recommend the Corsair VOID 7.1, i've got the wireless pair with RGB lighting to match any build, and sounds amazing, works well in Rainbow Six Siege.

Sony MDR-1A on warehouse deal - I picked a pair up a couple of months ago and love them, my HD 650s can't get a look in. Obviously they are not as good as the HD 650s but they are so much fun I don't really want to use anything else. They have powerful bass that goes way down low, silky smooth mids and highs with a bit of sparkle, plus a good sized sound stage for a closed back design. They are also stupidly comfortable, with some of the softest pleather pads I've ever used. They come with TWO 1.2m silver / OFC cables, one with universal remote and the other straight through.
