Personally think thats unfair, if someone is playing that many games year in year out for a top team, thats a really decent season (and for a number of those seasons we werent doing that well in FA Cup or in Europe so the number of games was well under 60 and could easily have been under 50)
Decent deal for both sides as long as Pards uses him in the right way (considering the insane prices this summer)
2nd rate as in the management structure thats happy with a top 4 every season, but doesnt care about actually challanging for the title in the last decade or so

Done well to get that price for Benteke. Recouped a lot of what we spent on him.
To be fair to him, it was never that he was a bad player, quite the opposite when you look at his goal scoring rate. It was always that he was just the wrong fit for our style of play, wasnt the right choice at all.
I feel he will do much better at Palace and will no doubt return to score against us later in the season.

Yes and no. Given that he was surplus to requirements and would have sat on the bench all season, yes but Benteke can (and in Villa's case was) the difference between a side staying up and getting relegated. A lot gets said about how poor he was for us but SSN just showed that he actually scored a goal ever 169 minutes for us which is better than the 1 in 2 that decent strikers should strive for and interestingly, it's better than his strike rate for Villa too.
Benteke will do well for Palace and given the rewards for just staying up, he's a safe bet for them.

As above, his strike rate was actually better for Liverpool than it was Villa.

Is the problem at Arsenal that we just don't have that much money hence why Wenger has to be frugal?
There's a lot of rumours about Draxler to Arsenal at the moment. ~50m on Draxler, ~30m on Mustafi. Could be a huge amount of money spent at Arsenal in comparison to previous summers, ~120m, Still not a patch on some clubs but it's better that nothing i suppose.
I thought the whole point of them having the new stadium was because of all the extra money it would give them??
Watch the press conference yesterday and Wenger gives away pretty much everything regarding his stance on transfers. It's pretty clear what his feelings are and he seems, to me anyway, to be in charge of our transfer business completely.
We'll have a CB and forward in before the end of the window but it's just frustrating as he won't be placed over a barrel.
First I've heard, last I heard Drax may be off to PSG but since then nothing. Pretty sure Wolfsburg have said they are not looking to sell Drax, mind you if a team came in with a stupid offer then I'm sure their stance will change pretty fast.
From what I read of Wenger's presser yesterday, he's saying he is not scared to spend big. So far from what I have seen, it seems the opposite. Maybe he's just keeping his cards close to his chest, usually doesn't give much or anything away transfer wise.

Early rumours that Monaco might want Rojo, I cant see it getting over the line given the difference in wages (and Utd having to pick up the difference) but would be incredible if it can be - especially if Mourinho really is looking to get Fabinho as much as the press are speculating.

As if the hit on the transfer fees isnt going to be tough enough to take, the wages on top will be very hard to negotiate.

According to reports Mourinho still wants him in the squad .
I think it has been Wenger's biggest flaw in the transfer market over the years, filling up with that type of player rather than addressing specific weaknesses in the team. Hence we've had periods with no top class keeper, insufficient cover at CB, no Gilberto replacement, no top notch striker etc.
Wonder how he feels now he is no longer the marque signing like last season.
He showed some good potential but then just went quiet and faded.
