(club apps per season rather than EPL only, but even so)
For a 2nd rate team he isnt bad............Arsenal should go for him

Evans in his peak for us was a really good defender. The last season he just seemed to get sloppier, a lot more mistakes came into his play. I didn't really follow him last season though.

When you say 2nd rate do you mean as in finished 2nd last season?

I think he meant as backup for the 1st choice partnership.
He was just on the wind up.
Evans is a good defender, his only major problems are his injuries and his lapses in concentration from time to time.
Arsenal could do worse, but suspect Moses is closer to the mark, in regards to trying to force Valencia's hand over Mustafi, however signing them both would be excellent business.
First choice is a bit vague really, he only played when he was covering for Ferdinand/Vidic as they both had a couple of injury hit seasons. Then outside of that 1 season where he made 40 apps, he fails to even make 30 apps which is quite bad to say a season usually has 50-60 games. Signing two average cbs is excellent business?
Mustafi is not average, but for the right price is an excellent piece of business. Similarly Evans was a good defender for Manchester United, West Brom, and could potentially be a good third choice centre back.
They are both better options than Holding and Chambers, despite the obvious strength of the Arsenal squad, and would improve Arsenal defensively.

I saw Valencia last season, I think it is unfair to call him 'average', he's better than average. £30,000,000 plus for an 'average-good' defender in this transfer window is no more insane than say: £25million for a relegated midfielder from Newcastle,£27million for a wildly inconsistent winger from Crystal Palace...

He has been average wherever hes been and Valencia is no different. You also cant compare cbs to goal scoring midfielders...goals always cost more, they always have.
Hold on, I thought we were told that Palace would walk away at £25m?
