My wife and I are going on holiday in October from 15/16 - 22/23 and fancy somewhere a little warmer. We've looked so far at:

Greece (never been)
Spain (Costa del Sol mainly)
Majorca
Croatia (never been)
Portugal (never been)

We know it won't be baking hot but should be decent I think in all these.
Anyone got experience of where would be nice at this time? We're currently wondering about Dubrovnik. Budget doesn't stretch to much further afield this time.

Where should we go!?

I am going Crete again start of October...i been three times it's that good there with twice being in start of October where it still hit the low 30s and was lovely.

So much to do there, great beaches, lovely people, Russian women :D , raki, Greek nights, good clubs...

I stayed in Hersonissos same hotel every time.

I can go for endless day trips if I want (though I was expecting this to be no 1 suggestion) I just choose not to.

What hotel is it? Never been to Crete so don't know what there is to do.

For warm weather in late October the Canary Islands might be a safer bet.

Is there much to do - whilst we want sun we also want some things to explore!

We are considering Palma, I went a long time ago and enjoyed it.

Bellos Apartments, has amazing staff, good location and great guests.(have made loads of friends there who i still see there and talk to...some guests been there 10 times or more!)

Palace of Knossos is nice to visit, Stalis Beach, Chrissi Island, Spinalonga(?), Cave of Zeus, Samaria Gorge if you like hiking, Agios Nikolaos is a beautiful town, Elafonissi Beach....other stuff i've forgotten.

I went to dubrovnik in May and it was scorching! (possibly too hot/humid) Will still be 20+ in October I imagine. Very nice place to go.

I've been to Barcelona in the start of October last year and it was also very nice (around 20+). Have you considered Barcelona? Possibly more to do than dubrovnik

Interested in some ideas too, we're going on holiday in mid Oct. So far it seems to be a very awkward month to book a holiday with the weather in most of Europe becoming unreliable. The only place with near guaranteed sun seems to be Cyprus, which I haven't been sold on from some initial research. Other typical holiday destinations such as Caribbean/South East Asia seem to be quite wet in October.

I'm now considering Florida but the flights aren't cheap at £400+.

For an unusual option Madagascar apparently has good weather in October.

Isn't Florida cheap cos of zika virus worries? It'll be cheap for sure (and I've been in October and it's roasting!) but not worth it for that risk.

Didn't realise Florida was a Zika risk - the prices don't seem to reflect it, although the weak pound probably renders any price dips less noticeable.

dont know what your budget is but i've just booked for 2 adults for 2 weeks all inclusive to the dominican republic for £1800 leaving in 10 days, could have got florida for £900 including car but not the insurance.

Are there still flights out there to those dates? I had something similar booked off (a week in oct) last year, and it was the week after the last (cheaper) flights to anywhere, pretty much... anywhere that's a popular holiday destination anyway.... There were hardly any flights out of most airports, and those that there were, were stupidly expensive / had massive waits between transfers.
