**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

There is a known problem from several months back which google have acknowledged but not fixed. For some people when you take the phone off of charge the backup service works continuously and prevents the phone from sleeping. If this is the problem you can work around it by restarting the phone after you take it off of charge in the morning.

It wasnt that - like I said was related to BT but the august patch seems to have fixed it now.

I bought my 6p when it was first released, though had a couple replacements over the first couple months so last had a replacement about Feb time. I've had an issue I'm getting sick of that I'd put down to a hardware fault. The issue is irrelevant and Google support have tried fixing this before by getting me to go through a load of steps, but due to one thing or the other with work etc I end up not fully resetting the whole phone to find out that doesn't fix the issue.

What I'd like to know is what sort of warranty can I expect with this phone? It was bought direct from Google. Would this still be covered?

Its happening!

OTA updates on 6P and Pixel C updated from last beta to release... behaving identically so far.

Can't see any of the fluffy new features/look that have been leaking as yet, so I'm guessing they'll arrive along with new Nexii maybe?

It was definitely the actual release and not the beta release? (Not that I've turned my 6P on for a few days, but obviously you would get an update when joining the Beta program, I don't think beta users are getting the main release before others, they/we were getting the Betas)

Signed up to the beta program got the update straight away then un-enrolled.
Same here.

Just did it whilst on the way to work. The download came into 1.1gb and took about 15mins whilst on the bus. Applying took a further 10 minutes and I was done by the time I got into the office! Just fully charging it now before I have a look at it. The new notification system is quite nice at first glance.

I've had an odd issue with my 6P. Yesterday it stopped charging through the included fast charger (always used the original cable too), but was still charging fine through a computer.

Obviously thought the charger was at fault so called Google, but he said I would have to go through Carphone Warehouse (urgh), but he gave me a couple of steps to try first.

1) switch off phone
2) reboot into the boot menu (vol down+power), then select the option to power off again
3) plug in cable
4) hope

It started charging. I booted the back up and it's merrily fast charging.

Odd. Still, at least I don't have to deal with Carphone Warehouse. I think I'd prefer to just chance a new charger from Google than deal with them.

Just updated mine. Feels a lot snappier now.

Split screen works well. Sliding down to view notifications and to turn WiFi/Bluetooth etc off is better. Let's see how much better the battery saving is. Other than accessibility features and under the hood features that's about it isn't it?
