Finally pulled the trigger on one of these for photo editing and casual gaming. Roll on tomorrow's delivery; coming from a 1080p TN screen I can't wait!

I've read that the panel on the smaller U2515H cannot be overclocked at all, but wondered if anyone with this 27" variant had tried and had any luck?

NO it is not possible.

You can try and overclock it to 75Hz or even 80Hz, it will tell you it's fine, then you go like HOORAAAAYY.

But when you do a frame skipping test, you will see that it actually is still outputting 60Hz, despite the input saying 80Hz, and when you scroll you see a lot of jerkiness.

Source - I tried.

Input lag is extremely low so I'm quite happy with it for SF4/SF5. (Much less than one frame)

60Hz obviously won't be as smooth as the 144Hz monitors, especially in browser scrolling!

Colour and contrast are pretty good, as expected of an IPS screen.

Slim and light weight, which I like.

Size/resolution wise it's a good balance. You can leave Windows at 100% scaling and still be able to read everything. Unlike the 25" on where I had to set scaling to 125%, which some of my older ****** applications don't like.

Good stand too.

But the U2717H is out now so I personally may not buy the U2715H if I were you.

I'd read that due to differences in panel type the response times weren't quite so good on the newer model. In summary, it appeared that general performance was similar, but for gaming the U2715H had a slight edge. Plus, it was a bit cheaper :)

Oh I see. Sorry I haven't read any review of the new model yet. I know the new bezel is sexier though :D

I bought the U2715H about 6-7 months ago. My conclusion at the time was that I should go for a 27" 144Hz IPS G-Sync, but then I found a U2715H for cheap and here we are.

The bezel? Yes, yes it does :D

I've had a 120hz Samsung TN for about 4 years now, but the Displayport connection broke about 12 months ago - been stuck at 60hz via HDMI ever since. Didn't bother me as much as I thought it would. Hence not going for a higher refresh model in the end.

Roll on tomorrow!

Wish I could say the same, but I could never go back to 60hz! 120/144hz is just too nice.

To be honest, I thought I'd be the same too. But then whilst I do like FPS games I am far from a competitive online player. Give me a leisurely single-player campaign and I'm happy. Funnily enough I've only recently gotten round to playing Fallout 4 - CANNOT put it down.

Each to their own I guess :)
