*** The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Thread ***

Has anyone seen any shops with demo units of these in yet? Had a look around the other day but didn't see any.

CPW near me only has dumb units in it. So I popped in to Liverpool Samsung store to have a proper play they had both colours in Black looks nice tho I've order Blue.

Also they had all the official cases in and the official screen protector + a decent amount of stock

Have phone around local operators shops see who has one in

I really don't see the point of those video's? Are they actually meant to be funny?

Re: Scratch and hammer test.

I don't see the point either.. Now if he had tried a proper scratch.... Let alone a scratch 'test' but he feebly /idiotically 'runs' the knife across.. He was /probably couldn't be bothered.. And then it was hammer time! :D :/

YouTube link above : This one is impressive scoring with Stanley knife, spanner etc.

No marks at all!

Mmm.. Debunks Scratchgate video.. In that it's just totally countered 'closest thing to plastic'...

Some small bash marks from the hammer at the end but I'd expect that.

Interesting.. Very interesting.

That's not the Note 7 though, or am I missing something here ?!?

I went with a contract move to 3 in the end

£99 upfornt
AYCE data, mins and text
£50 Amazon voucher
Gear VR
£56 a month

They have stated a delivery date of 13 Sep 16 as have gone for the blue option and this is quite popular. Could have had the black by end of Aug, but am hangning in there for the blue. Hopefully they will have more stock in and can meet the same delivery date as the black option.

Considering floggin on my Note 4, but also weighing up whether to keep it as back up or hadn it on to my mate who has the worlds cackest phone

£ 1443 total over 2 years, minus the £50 Amazon Voucher

Seems expensive, but if you factor in an equivalent sim only deal for that package being around £25-£30 a month, it's not too bad.

Yeah, would have loved to get it out right, but finances won't allow that atm, so going for this. Am going to be using a fair whack of data over coming months as am on course and the hotel I am staying in has 'nanny wifi' ;) plus I can now kick the arse out of my Spotify while walking back and too to work :D

I think I'll do what I did with my S6 and GiffGaff it.
Got a £18 Three contract and then just pay £50 a month for 12 months (plus up front payment) and it's paid off in a year. Sure you pay an extra £30 or whatever in interest but saves me splashing out £700 up front when I can use that for something else.

I have been working out all the deals to find the cheapest and weirdly some of them do come out cheaper to pay for the phone over the 2 years rather than outright and go sim only.

xda just did a review blasting the performance - is this deeper than just the launcher?

if I changed to nova launcher - I wouldn't get the touchwiz issues?

Yes you would. Nova Launcher just sits on top of touchwiz changing parts of its appearance. Touchwiz unfortunately isnt just a launcher - it goes a lot deeper into Android than a launcher does.

Sticking with my note 4 & going sim only.
£50+ pm for phone contract is a bit rich for me, sim only will come in at £17 pm for me.
12GB data, 200mins & unlimited texts.

Note 4 still does everything I want it to for the foreseeable future.

a few more reports now that the note 7 is slower in all aspects than the iPhone 6s! :(

So is the OnePlus 3 which is one of the fastest android phones . Doesn't bother me at all as it's still plenty fast and has features to make an iPhone feel so dated.

Fast and wireless charging to name a couple.

I've just cancelled my pre-order after seeing this:

Only been about 4 years in the making lol! - finally getting there. Don't want to invest so much into a handheld that will be worth nothing (in typical samsung style) within a year.

More here:

i'd take all that with a bucket of salt not a pinch.. if they couldn't get the expected Note 7 specs correct i.e 6gb ram snapdragon 821 etc no chance predicting next years phones
