Just got my Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming and it's a cracker. The only slight issue I have with it is the buzz/whine I'm getting under load situations. Nothing at all at idle and the card runs nice and cool, overclocks pretty well etc.

What's everyojnes opinions on this ? I mean for a £6/650 should I accept this, I'm guessing it's pretty normal across the board. It's not horrendous by any means and I have heard it can improve over time....?

Has anyone else had issues with coil whine/buzzing on their 1080 ?

I wondering whether to return it and grab another, but it's surely a lottery and I could just as easily end up with one worse !

Simon.

I would ask for an RMA, you shouldn't have to put up with that from a new card. If either of my 980ti's had whine from purchase I would have returned them no doubt. You are paying that much for a card so it shouldn't have any problems. I am sure Ocuk will accept it.

You will still be able to return it, I am sure you bought for a reputable company.

Yes I can do. I'm just debating whether or not to keep it for the hassle/uncertainty. I have seen reports of it improving over time from some owners.

I have an EVGA one and the coil whine is very bad. I'm getting a replacement sent since I didn't spend over £600 to have a car that whines. Mine is so bad that I can hear it across the room.

Maybe Gigabyte will offer you a replacement whilst you send yours back? i know EVGA offer an RMA where you can front £x for a card and they refund you when they receive yours.

Well you convinced me. Sent it back today. Hopefully it's a quick turnaround and I'll grab another. Any suggestions for this time ? Quality product will be the order of the day this time round.
