He probably would sell him to anyone except Arsenal and City.

Its a plus for Utd if he goes to Arsenal or City (ie we get cash for a player who isnt likely to play, and he takes up a place in their squad while being out injured)

Win - Win from Utd's point of view :D

If he ever played against Utd, Zlatan would just need to sneeze hard in Jones' direction, and he would be out of commission for a few months

You'd think it was wise to sell your dross to Sunderland only for them to gift City 3 points :D

City were always likely to get 3 points vs Sunderland anyway - highly unlikely the sale made any difference (ie if it wasnt McNair it would have been someone else)

Utd got upto £7m out of it so meh

(its more annoying when Costa keeps on getting away with red card/ 2nd yellow challanges imo)

edit - Rumours from Spain that Valencia are interested in Rojo for 12m euros - not sure what their budget is like given UEFA breathing down their neck FFP wise

IF they can afford it (maybe in conjunction with Mustafi sale for ~£25m?) and that includes them covering his wages it could be a reasonable deal for both sides , but unfortunately I think the wages situation will cause issues either way even if the rumour is based on fact.

Arsenal have supposedly signed Lucas Perez from Deportivo de la Coruña for €20m, it's Marca though so pinch of salt required.

DeportivoLos Gunners pay clause ( 20 million euros) tip Galician
Lucas Pérez , destination Arsenal

Arsenal is the fate of Lucas Pérez for the next three or four seasons. Except turnabout during the day, the Galician front gunner player will be tomorrow. During yesterday, in Corunna, it was total agreement between the two clubs for the transfer of the player. In the end, Arsenal will pay the termination clause of Lucas Pérez -20 million euros, and striker Arsene Wenger will he ever wanted.

In La Coruna already they started pasada- nothing more to finish the season to get used to the idea that their franchise player leave the team. And at the end, so it will happen. Of course, Lucas is going through the front door and leaving the coffers of the club deportivista 20 kilos.

The Arsenal was not the first proposal arrived at the headquarters of the Galician club so far this summer. There have been many groups that have been interested in the situation of the ram, and many others who have called his representative Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle-, but the official proposal has reached the Plaza de Pontevedra was the -first Everton - -second- Arsenal and, although they were several Spanish clubs called the all-powerful, who are also interested in the striker.

So, the Galician club Deportiva address is already working on the idea of being left without their star player, just a few days after the end of the market.

The ball is now on the roof of the player, who must give Yes I want to Arsenal. Since its environment is recognized that there that offer, but still maintain the discourse that, if a trigger event occurs, this would always with the approval of Deportivo.

From the club they give practically already lost and are looking for a substitute in the international market. The deportivistas technicians take weeks working on the hypothesis that Lucas could leave Riazor. There were front on the agenda, for different reasons, have been falling with each passing day, and now contacts with them will be activated.
A traveler tips

Lucas, despite his age, has already played in several different leagues since he left the Lightning. From the Ukrainian Karpaty he joined the almighty Dynamo Kiev to then go to Greece to play a season in PAOK. A million and a half was the cause of the forward call at Deportivo and fulfill the dream of his life: First play in the team of his land.

I don't think that you necessarily have to find someone who will pay their current wages at a new club to offload someone. If they want to play then that is worth taking a pay cut for. If Rojo wants to keep playing for Argentina he needs first choice football. He also won't get a good contract from another team in a few years if he just lets his contact run down.

Who wants to buy a very average defender who hasn't played in 2 years. Certainly no team would pay him high wages.

Why do you think Utd are always stuck with dead wood for years? Its mainly because of the wage situation and players willing to pick up a generous paycheck while rarely playing.

(Im talking about 1st XI squad here, not youngsters trying to make a name and not getting games which is a different situation).

I think the board has been particularly generous in the last few years, both with players coming in as well as extentions (how the **** has Jones still got 4 years on his contract incl options for instance). Probably not helped by the fact Utd havent challanged for titles /cups for the majority of the last few years / constantly changing manager.

We want to pay the £20m in instalments lol.

That's taking the **** out of Perez, Deportivo, the fans, just about everyone tbh.

I have no idea how you can get angry, you'd never heard of the guy, no one had a clue about this until today, just wait til deadline day and then pass comment about the deal because at the moment, you don't know the details
