If it helps you decide, I went from a EVGA GTX780 FTW to my Inno3D X3 1070 and in some games the 1070 is around double the performance of the 780. It's a huge jump in performance while giving a massive drop in power consumption. With my old 780 my whole pc had a maximum power draw at the wall of 452w. With the 1070 I don't even hit 280w at the wall!!
how do you know that? how do you measure the power draw from your wall socket? to see how much current your pulling out?
