My Step dad and Mum are after a new car to replace the old astra.

They don't have a massive budget but it will be a company car as well so it will be through a business. Now I'm not entirely sure what difference it makes other than price.

The car will be used to go to and from work. The drive is 5 miles and then a general run around. So up to 8k pa tops.

There budget is £150 pm. They want brand new so the car is in warranty etc.

The only requirements are 4 door and something not too gutless. Currently have a 1.8 astra so they reckon circa 1.4 will be fine.

No preferred body type but a mondeo/octavia size is too big.

I was thinking something around focus/new astra size, but not sure what else is in budget range.

Anyone got any good ideas?

EDIT: Should have stated it will also be used as the pool car for work. But thats rare occurrence.

Is that £150 total cost? If it's for personal and business use then you have to factor in BIK tax which varies based on value and emissions. £150pm total means you'll need a very low emission vehicle and it'll basically be the cheapest, lowest spec small car of whichever manufacturer.

To and from work is NOT for business.

Unless they are a home based business with an external office...Then it'll travelling between offices;)

It may be better to PCP it and claim back business mileage. But @5 miles per day thats less than £12.50 per week
