Hi
Few weeks ago i got h110i gt, and those standard fans are so bad that they are louder at 900rpm than vardars F4 at 1800rpm, absolutely ridiculous for Corsair to supply such a bad fans with "premium" product.
So i got two NF-A14 IndustrialPPC 2000RPM in my basket, and I would like to know if there is anything better that these noctua fans before I decide to press buy.
ps. If i know standard fans were so **** I would have gone with predator 240...
Thanks
Pete

Like peterhc said, get the EK Predator 240mm cooler. It is a real water cooling system you can add components, repair as needed, top up coolant .. not a a disposable like CLCs are. Theh cost 180, but compared to H110i at 120 plus 48 for 2x NF-A14 IPPC fans you are almost there and still have a CLC with it's wimpy little pump and all aluminum radiator, no repair or upgrade

I had that exact same AIO, for me the pump (set to quiet in link software) was still the loudest thing in my PC at idle/medium load. I ended up returning it to the rainforest the same day it arrived, completely awful product considering the cost.

I'd recommend having a listen to it without any fans connected, just so you know what the pump sounds like yourself.

I went for h110i Gt only coz it was 60gb cheaper and have 5 years warranty.
Now im regretting my decision ^^, its so loud at quiet preset that i had to create another one where fans do not spin above 800rpm. Bloody joke if you ask me...

If you can mate just return it and get the EK 240.

My H110i GT recently died, and even in it's prime with two Noctua NF A14 iPPC 2000rpm fans it wasn't very good; and still extremely loud. The corsair fans I had also had a terrible rattle at high speeds; which was the main reason I replaced them.

What N19H7m4r3 neglected to tell you is he replaced his with a NH-D15S (& Enthoo Luxe case) for much better cooling and no noise.
I haven't been this impressed by cooling since my old full custom water loop with 480 rads!

I'm only at stock 5820K speeds, but the temps under Aida 64 is astonishing!
Max temps seen are less than my idles were on my H110! I'm still only using the stock NF A15 fan as well, I don't think I even need the second fan now.

He posted up after building late one night with idle temps in upper 20s, Later in the day stress testing gave high 40's.

All of the corsair stock fans are loud so its nothing new peter, I just always order different fans with my corsair coolers and now its my H110i gt is very quiet. I might consider the EK Predator in the future as my case is plenty big enough (Phanteks Ethoo Primo).

Problem with noctua is that it might not fit into my 400c case, same problem I had with silverarrow.

Adam if I start adding fans like Noctua which are 24 quid each I will get into predator 240 price and, I might as well get that. Already got 2 vardars f4 from my old setup (Antec kuhler 620) and I could do push pull on predator 240.
Will have to think about it. the 5 years warranty from corsair is just keeping me from returning the whole unit... decisions decisions

400C has 170mm CPU clearance.
NH-D15S is only 160mm tall and 67mm center CPU toward PCIe and 83mm the other way.

I don't know which Silver Arrow cooler you have, but you shouldn't have any problems fitting any of the Siver Arrow coolers in your 400C case. Silver Arrow = 162.7mm, Silver Arrow SB-E = 165mm, Silver Arrow IB-E and Silver Arrow ITX are all 162.7 to 165 mm tall and center fan will fit flush with top of cooler .. unless your RAM was too tall for front fan to fit between RAM and case.

Yeah I understand, I just use 4 Corsair red fans which are less than £10 each and they are quiet enough. Will defo get that EK pred in the future.

So going back to my 1st post are NF-A14 good replacement for stock fans or is there anything better?
doyll
1st fan above ram on silverarrow was touching side panel and i got low profile mems.

:pOkay, now I understand.

170mm CPU clearance is 178mm motherboard clearance, and RAM socket raises RAM 3mm above motherboard so 175mm clearance for RAM & fan. Fan is 140-141mm so I'll assume this means our RAM is 34-35mm tall.

34mm tall RAM is not really 'low profile' RAM. It is normal height RAM. We have become so conditioned to tall (but worthless) heat spreaders on our RAM that normal height RAM seems to be 'very short' .. Really the only thing 'very short' about is how normal height RAM is in such short supply. :D

Low profile RAM is 21-22mm tall .. with an installed height of 25mm, same height as RAM socket clips are when clipped onto RAM.:p

28-34mm RAM is just normal height RAM.:p

Glad you got it sorted to your satisfaction.

But I don't believe it is now silent. It may be quieter than other sounds coming out of your computer or in your room but I have yet to find a CLC that in a quiet environment the pump was not audible.

What I was trying to say is that it's silent compared to Corsair fans ^.^

That's the exact same thing I did. Just keep an eye on the pump now; as mine decided to commit suicide not long after. :p

Got 5 years of warranty ;), so a little bit peace of mind.

Silence is not a 'compared' thing 'quieter than' but not 'silencer than'. Silence is or is not, kinda like pregnancy .. either are pregnant or are not pregnant. :D

Let us know how much 'peace of mnd' you have left after spending a month ro two trying to get you dead CLC and the GPU that died from coolant damage replaced .. while you have no system to use. :p

I own the corsair H110 GT I've had many older models and I have always changed the fans but with the H110 GT I've used the stock fans and with a bit of fine tuning with the corsair link software it has been running very quiet and still being able to cool my Intel 6600k clocked @4.5ghz idle 23c and in games 45c,pump is set at max and the fans are set at 1000rpm.
Can't really fault corsair for their customer service as well as I had a H80 with a bad pump and they replaced it with a H 80i and they sent it out and picked up the old one.
