*** Battlefield 1 ***

I think it's a poor map which is why i'm not writing it off yet. However, there are issues as always and is there enough time to rectify it before release? I'm not sure.

Well TitanFall 2 had a poor response from beta and the devs are working hard to fix all the issues (or some of them) reported, so DICE might look to fix it, but when i tried the Star Wars Battlefront Beta last year, even though it was shallow, it was fun.

This was shallow, not fun and felt wrong. So, DICE have some work to do? Unless like we think - just a poor map and the campaign and overall game is much better..

Lets see what happens.

Can't put my finger on it but doesn't feel right. Odd because playing it on ps4 it looks good, and everything feels quite slick. Balance seems to be all over the place though.

Probably because its a console game. unfortunately, like most new games the consoles come first then pc with a few more graphics options and no autoaim

My first impression is it feels like SWBF with a WW1 skin. I'll keep trying though. Just feels very 'spammy', fail to see how you can apply skill to be the better team.

Yeah it did feel very swbf didn't it? I couldn't put my finger on it, but that's it. It looked good, and I liked flying around in the sand storm, but yeah the tank vs infantry didn't feel right. Might be because you have to get close to lob a grenade but it has so many turrets that it is too hard to get close enough.

The guns didn't feel quite right either. I liked the rifles, but anything automatic felt a bit lifeless.

First few rounds I played I thought this was terrible... then I dropped all settings to low except texture mesh and fiddled with other game settings... It has now been elevated to meh. :p

Will keep playing over the week.

Well well well, I've said it before and I'll say it again, judging from the comments here its another big name game flop. As I've said before on the forums recently, seems that 2016 is the year of big name failures. No Mans Sky ended up slated, Deus Ex ended up slated and now Battlefield 1 slated and Civ 6 getting its fair share of slating. 2016 - The avoid the AAA titles year! :D

Don't think I'll be reordering :(.

Had a few fun moments like bombing the enemy bomber or chasing the campers formerly known as loomybot and BG1980 up a hill with a tank but it just doesn't feel right. In previous battlefields when I died I know how I ****ed up in this one it's just frustrating. Got the drop on a guy mag dumping into them they turn and one shot me.

There's no consistency from my experience.

Deus Ex wasn't slated, the DLC was but the actual game is great. The gunplay feels weird in this, almost like aiming has inertia? Doesn't feel precise at all.

I've seen many slate Deus Ex for performance issues, game bugs preventing progress, poor ending and game length. I myself like Deus Ex, then again I myself also like BF1 :)

When I imagine WW1 I don't think of the desert and horses. I know each country had their part to play but the beta map reminds me of SWBF.

I hope DICE release the Alpha map as the current one is terrible and doesn't give me that WW1 portrayal I have read or watched.

Historians need not reply.
Thank You

:D

Not sure what i think of the game really,It looks absolutely stunning il give it that.

Just,Im not blown away to be honest,if anything i think its the map..not a great fan of it myself.
I wish we could have tried the other map they had in closed.

I wish they had made Bad company 3 instead.

I'll admit theyve nailed the graphics though, it does look very good. Doubt I'll preorder as the gameplay just doesn't feel right and I cant see them adding hardcore mode.

My guess is this will be the same as SWBF, they'll ignore all feedback from the betas and release this as the finished product in a couple of months.

Fully prepared to eat my own hat should they change things though ;)

Smart bet :D.

The alpha map was so much better so that's probably not helping me enjoy it.

From the general consensus here it seems to be the map is a big point for turning people off, so maybe thats a big factor. I can definitely see how.

I'm just really not enjoying the gameplay. Conquest just doesnt feel as progressive as BF3 and BFBC2, that game forced you to push to get the upper hand. In this it seems like you just get one guy behind enemy lines, get an entire squad to spawn off him and run around capping all the points behind the enemies back, shoot everyone in the back, win.

It doesn't feel 'gritty' enough for me, not arcadey per se but I just feel like its a quick 15 min game rather than a battle with the opposite team to win.

Rockets on the fighter planes is good for a laugh :D

Oh and the announcer can be turned to male in the sound options, seems that was a big deal going by some comments on the official forums.
