*** The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Thread ***

Wish I'd held onto my Note 4 until I'd got the Note 7 now.

I'd assume if they're recalling all stock, they'll likely extend it to the chaps who have already got theirs.

My Note 5 has gone to my wife and she had to change her sim to use it so won't be too pleased when I take it back and she has to change her sim again.

Well that's great ..do turn it off and not use it or what

I'm going to have to go buy another bloody phone if there's a recall as I have not got 1

If this 0.1% figure of duff batteries is true then the chance of yours going up in smoke is very small so I'd just carry on using it. I'm doing that with mine until we hear more.

I don't think I can manage with this One M7 for another few weeks if that's the timescales we're looking at - the battery barely lasts a day of sparing use and the touch screen isn't the best (probably from it being loaned to my mum who's dropped it a few times).

I'll have to see what sort of timescales we're looking at as info comes out over the next few days, worst case I might have to switch to a different phone :(

no more carrying it in my front jeans pocket for now ...don't wanna burn the family jewels :p

I imagine Samsung are frantically check batch numbers now :p

I know these do get hot but mine is getting really hot to the touch. The phone is dimming the screen a couple of notches while the temp goes back down and then going back to normal when cooler.

I know my s7 flat got hot but this one seems even worse. Anyone else getting similar issues?

Just a quick tip for Note users (whilst we still have them that is ).

You look to be able to install and use Sony's Smart Connect (I thought this was part of the Sony install, but it's available in the Play Store). This allows you to set your phone to be Do Not Disturb or on vibrate when you put it on charge. I find this useful at night so that if it rings, the vibrate wakes me up and not the wife. It will then revert back to normal sound mode when you take the phone off charge - and you can set a time frame so it will only occur between 10pm and 6am (for example).

I really missed this from my Sony - but glad that it also works on the Note 7...

Update: Samsung has just informed us that it will be awarding all customers who ordered a Galaxy Note 7 a complimentary 128GB microSD card to compensate for the delay in shipments. It also provided us with the following statement on the matter:

In response to questions on Galaxy Note7, we are conducting a thorough inspection with our partners. We will share the findings as soon as possible. Samsung is fully committed to providing the highest quality products to our consumers.

Hey I got mine from Three in Ireland. Just now they sent me a text that I was to turn off the phone and return it!! as Samsung have reported a battery safety issue.
