Hi Everyone,

I posted a while back with a similar thread title but my circumstances have changed :)

I'm now in the lucky position to be able to build a gaming PC with a far higher budget.

EDIT - Oh Wow that's an oversight, previous budget was about £800 but now probably nearer the £1,750-£2,000 mark.

Currently the only game I want (Need ;)) to play is Warhammer: Total War so could anyone build me a PC/link me to one on here that'll play this on the highest settings without going wayyyy overboard with RAM/graphics card power that really isn't necessary?

Screen is a

BenQ XL2430T LED 24 inch Gaming Monitor (144 Hz, 16:9, 1920 x 1080, 1000:1, 12M:1, DVI/HDMI 1.4 x 2/ DP1.2) - Black

and I don't want to change this or any other peripherals.

Many thanks!

I went for custom built by you. Can update if you don't want to.

Based on what you said i targeted value for money within your budget. Its quite a bit under but its basically a very sensible build. Nothing OTT, nothing excessive, just solid performance at a great price.

A couple of thoughts on this..

Firstly I understand you want this to play one game but you're going to be playing others at some point. You really want a machine to play all games well, not just this one :)

Secondly, whilst you say you don't want a new monitor, the truth is you have the budget for one. It's the one thing that can make such a difference, especially when driven by a very good GPU.

So with those things in mind I've specced the system below for you. I've gone for capacity with a standard SSD over the minimal real world speed increases afforded by an m.2 drive. The monitor is excellent and a big step up from what you already have. And it will play anything you throw at it with ease :)

Add a copy of Windows on USB and a storage drive if you want. You could also swap out the AIO for an air cooler and save a few quid.

Thanks guys/gals, appreciate the time you've spent in responding to me.

However, if I should choose to buy a pre-built machine, could any of you recommend one that would play Warhammer - Total War flawlessly?

This should do you well

You want a 1440p G-Sync monitor included. This is scripture.
Traditional HD is no longer the standard to shoot for, especially with the money you're spending. And for the love all that is holy do not pretend that you only want to play Warhammer when there are so many other great games to play.

Edit: ExRayTed has the right of it, his build is bang on.
