Best 27" 1440p 144hz Gsync for gaming?

I very recently bought the Dell S2716DG. Seems at the moment its pot luck on getting one without any dead pixels or marks.

I got lucky and mine was fine! Great monitor and perfect for my 980ti.

Another vote for the Dell, the Mrs and I picked up a pair on TWO last week and both screens are flawless with just a hint of BLB at the bottom.

Even after moving from a decent IPS screen I am impressed with the colour reproduction (as long as viewed head on of course).

Just to break up the Dell appreciation society, I can recommend the Acer XB270HU
Picked mine up a few weeks ago & I'm very happy with it.

That's the one I was looking at.

I hear good things about the Dell but their stupid anti glare coating gives me pause. I bought a Dell monitor back around 2008 and I couldn't stand the anti glare coating. Have they improved or is it still the same?

What's the panel lottery like with the Acer and the Asus 279Q? I really have my heart set on IPS for the better color gamut and depth right now but I'm willing to be convinced otherwise.

edit: Somebody said I have a 980Ti, I do not, I have a 980 Gigabyte G1. I plan to OC as far as reasonably possible once I get the new display, but some people on another forum have mentioned that my card may not be up to the task of running a 144Hz G sync display. I mentioned there that I am not expecting 144Hz in most games, far from it. 50-80 is fine, I just want the G sync for it's adaptability to the card's frame output so I can get a better sync experience out of my games instead of always being locked to 60.

If you guys agree that the 980 is not up to snuff I might consider getting a lower end 1440P screen along with a GTX 1070 but I feel like upgrading after 1 generation is sort of like flushing the money I payed for the 980 down the toilet although I'm sure I could sell this card for decent money if I had to.

I really had my heart set on a high end monitor.

I've had previous Dells and can tell you the coating on the S2716DG is much lighter, almost semi glossy. However, I believe you have to have the right revision to get the lighter coating: either A02 or A03 (mine is the former). The A01 had a heavier, grainy coating according to most information I can find.

As for the 980 and performance, it may struggle a little at 1440p. I have an overclocked Ti and can maintain 60FPS in most games, DE:MD being the most recent exception. I had a single 980 when I first moved to 1440p and did find the performance frustrating, but that was prior to having a gsync monitor. Gsync will help in that regard as for many people it makes framerates between 45 and 60 more tolerable - although it is a matter of preference.

Depends if you can wait until October, as our new Agon AG271QX fits the bill and also a very attractive design, lets not forget the headset rest either! ;-)

Friend of mine bought one of these; seems a very nice monitor apart from the missing screws to attach it to the stand. had to pinch them from another older monitor to use it.
