I got a Point of View GTX 470 when they launched, reference design as well.
I had one of those too, and two Point of View 480's as well.
Nothing wrong with lesser known brands at all... They will likely be just as good as a more pricey brand!

Any that use the reference design are all made by Foxcon anyway, it is only the cooler that is different. Of course as has been said some use completely custom boards.

The two Palit cards I've ever owned have worked perfectly fine. My current Palit gtx1080 gamerock premium card probably has the best performing cooler I've ever owned. My only gripe is the design and styling looks horrid.
With the ridiculous pricing we are seeing these days I doubt I will ever buy a 'premium' brand card again.
All in all I'm sure nvidia and ati don't partner with awful companies but I think there's a bit of shindiggery going on here and there with the cheaper brands to push them in front of the better knowns.
PC Partner (Zotac and Sapphire) also make the current Manli 1060 cards, and when I had an 8600GT many moons ago the "OcUK Value" brand was XpertVision, which was part of Palit.
All of the "unknowns" are part of the big 4.
Go with Zotac, they're reliable enough for them to give you a 5yr guarantee.
But I read they no longer accept RMA's in UK, have to send to Hong Kong.
Any RMA will be through OcUK.i bit the bullet about bought the "manli" 1060 gpu. what I'm wondering is if there is a problem and RMA, does it go to OC UK for resolving or does it go to the main manufacturer of the card for resolve?
