So,earlier this week my wife and I hired a Morgan 3 Wheeler, direct from the factory. We collected it at 9am, and other than an hour for lunch and a fuel stop we didnt stop driving it until we returned to Malvern at 4pm. It's that much fun!
The only windscreens are two tiny wind-deflectors. These actually work better than you might expect. We only had glasses/sunglasses and most of the time we were fine. A couple of kami-kaze flies stung my face, and rain at 60-70mph can actually hurt!
There's so much torque from the 2.0 S&S V-twin that you can pull away without any throttle (if you're gentle).
The noise is in incredible. This one (as are many) was fitted with a sports exhaust. It's inches from your right ear, and when you're on the throttle it's a truly amazing sound!
We headed west towards Wales; Hereford, Abergavenny, Brecon, places like that. There are some fantastic roads around there.
The starter button is under a flap (apparently similar to those used on jet fighters)
After a little rain in the morning the skies opened up for the afternoon:
The dash is refreshingly basic but functional:
The area was pretty rural:
Turning up to a rural pub for lunch caused quite stir, including being asked to park in front of the pub so everyone could take pictures:
There are plenty of videos on Youtube if you want to hear what one sounds like.
Seriously, if you enjoy driving you'll love this car! I think it should be on every petrolhead's bucket list.
I could almost be tempted to swap my Plus 8 for one.
