Hello, so I currently have the above card and I am looking to upgrade and what to know what my options are. I was thinking of just getting another card and SLI'in them however they are becoming very difficult to find (for less than £400 plus) could i get another gxt 980 that isn't EVGA and it work or am i best going for a 1070/1080? As always your help is always appreciated

I'd recommend a 1070. Single card solutions are always drastically superior to SLI setups, in terms of noise, heat output and compatibility.

I'd sell the 980 and get a single card. The 1070 will yield an extra 45-50% depending on the games you play.

A 1080 is abot 20% more powerful than the 1070 and would be delivering closer to 980 SLI performance, however, I'm not sure it's worth the money over a 1070 - especially if you're at 1080p.

hi I'm currently rocking the ROG Swift PG278Q Gaming Monitor - 27'' 2K WQHD (2560 x 1440), 1ms, up to 144Hz, G-SYNC™

2 of them but that's only because i got them both for £150 each (long story)

so with that in mind the 1070 is still the better choice over the 1080?

From a value perspective, the 1070 is still better, but at that res if you play FPS a lot, a 1080 wouldn't be wasted on you because a 1070 won't be able to hold 144 frames. It'll come close, and it's up to you whether the extra smoothness is worth the money.

What games do you play?

1070 will have no problems with OW. BF1 is hard to say given it's still in beta.

If it was my money I'd go with the 1070.
