Looking for a new washing machine on a budget of £200-350. Looking for something durable, but it doesn't need to be massive because it's just for me and my partner.

Have now had a Siemens 7kg/1400rpm for 12 months, disappointed that it seems to tangle king sheets versus previous machine.

Recently understood Gorenj(g?) bought Swedish brand Asko (which were same quality as Miele) , so would like to know more about the build quality of these for a potential future purchase.
The JL own brand themselves have good reviews on their site too.

Even Miele have changed their business model and are now selling cheaper machines with a reduced 5 year guarantee - how the mighty are fallen - comments like this from hotukdeals

People moaning why they are only offering 2 years warranty now when before you would get 5, 10 and 20 previously and I can tell you why.

So many people have brought the cheap one's that it causes a real problem at the top end because everyone has dropped a level or 2 in what quality they buy due to the world finances.

5 years ago this machine would have set you back £750 with 5 years warranty, 10 years ago this machine would have set you back £1000 with 10 years warranty. Miele incorporate inside their price the cost of providing an excellent warranty service and is the reasons why they are naturally the most expensive.

To compete in the market they are having to strip out the warranty to even catch the mid range market now.

Why would you buy the Hotpoint when and indesit is exactly the same, but cheaper.

OP, buy an LG and thank me later.

Hotpoint are really poor.

Okay buy the cheapest and the warranty.

Our £600 LG dishwasher was junk and was scrapped after 6 months. Curry's were atrocious, their customer service was down right rude and when they eventually admitted it was scrap they took a month to refund the money.

My point is its a lottery of poorly made low quality machines. My preference would be JL with their warranty. Even our bosch washer broke down just after a year and JL were fantastic with a visit the next day and a new machine the day after. They renewed the warranty from replacement as well.

We sell LG machines for one reason alone, their reliability.

You had a shocking experience, it is very, very, very rare.

I do like the look of the LG's, but it doesn't look like any of the usual deals are on. I found an 8kg LG that was on offer for £350 but the deal expired last week.

Not sure if I'm allowed to link to it.

I spent ages looking at machines around a month or so ago. I read the specs, reviews, messages on here, looked at pictures (wanted it to look nice, not from the 80s) etc and eventually went for this.

I had read some negative comments about Hoover as a brand but the machine was £309 when I bought it so I also went with a 5 year warranty with JL.
When it was delivered, I mentioned to the delivery guys that I came very close to purchasing a Samsung. He said you did the right thing as we are always collecting broken Samsung units for repair but rarely Hoover.
They also installed it free of charge without me asking.

As for the machine... the features it has for the price are great. It is more or less silent when running, even at 1600rpm.
In fact I asked my girlfriend to pause the TV the other day as I could hear an odd noise. It turned out to be the water sloshing around inside the machine. I'd forgotten I'd put it on but I couldn't hear the motor at all.

Fully recommended.

We've had loads of issues with LG Dishwashers and virtually none on the hundreds of washing machines we've sold :)
