I've just received this from Samsung:

Thank you for your email. Your customer reference number is *******.

The best way to schedule a replacement is to call our helpline on 03307267864.

If you require additional support please contact us on 0330 726 7864 (UK) or 0818 717 100 (EIRE), or respond to this email and I will be more than happy to help.
Alternatively you can visit our Support website where you will find FAQs, How-To-Videos and other useful information for Samsung products.

Isn't this idiotic. After they told us to send our details through their website, now we receive this email.

The funny part is that when I call that number and go through the menu, they have the same message regarding the Note 7: fill out the form on our website blah blah we'll contact you in 7 days.

I folded and cancelled my pre-order. No firm dates and I don't fancy a refurb.

Tempted to grab an S7 Edge instead.

South Korean the replacement program is expected to last until March next year:

[THE INVESTOR] South Korean consumers who already bought the Galaxy Note 7 smartphones are expected to prefer to replace their Note 7 devices with new ones rather than receive complete refunds, industry officials said on Sept. 6.

Samsung Electronics announced a global recall of the Note 7 smartphones on Sept. 2 after some of their batteries caught fire while being charged. Mobile carriers in South Korea are also offering full refunds for the Note 7.

The refund program will be available until Sept. 19, but the replacement program is expected to last until March next year.

Even if the Note 7 owners contact a Samsung service center and find that their batteries are safe, they are likely to choose the replacement program because they simply want to use new Note 7 smartphones, said the officials.

Mobile carriers began their refund programs Sept. 3, but the number of Note 7 owners who applied for refunds was small, according to industry statistics.

So it's better to have one of the first units as you can use and abuse it until early next year and then ask for a brand new replacement, nice. Unless of course it catches fire in the meanwhile and burns your house down.

More info here about the specifics: http://hexus.net/ce/news/mobile-phones/96607-samsung-galaxy-note7-recall-will-cost-firm-900-million/

I'm actually beginning to feel sorry for Samsung. They had a killer device which would have taken plenty of iphone sales but because of this it's now up poopookaka creek without a paddle.

$904 Million to sort this mess out. Not to mention the loss of potential sales due to bad press.
Haha. Karma for making the S6 and Note 5 without an sd slot and not bringing the note 5 to the UK... Plus other things. I have no sympathy for them.

Guys can anyone tell me if they note7 screen blinks occasionally? My list of problems is growing from light leaking at bezel, heating in average use, lag and pausing, screen responsiveness poor meaning I often have to tap things twice, to speaker distortion and yesterday the sound volume going up and down by it self. I just can't see my self with another phone so will hold out for the replacement but at this price I really hope the new one doesn't have the same problems!

Maybe this is how it started for those 35 device that exploded... I'd take extra care if i were you....

Just had a response to my complaint email that I sent to Samsung...

As expected, they are sorry about the confusion regarding their none existent process on Saturday and I should contact the 03 number. Just a (politely worded) fob off...

I had mentioned the case again (yes I am still going on about the free case as it has really annoyed me)... Their response is:

"The case included in pre-orders with the Galaxy Note 7 was not disclosed prior to its shipment as its aim was to be a surprise to our customers. We do apologize if you had different expectations, however I can assure you, neither you or any of our customers have been sent any random item. This was the product intended to be shipped."

Yes it was disclosed prior to it's shipment, as it was listed on both the order confirmation and a line item in the "my orders" section of the Samsung site. Although you could say they achieved their goal, as it was certainly a surprise....

Tempted to go down the refund route...

Come on, admit it that you love the "case"! :)

BTW, has anyone received an email from Samsung regarding the replacement?
As stated earlier, after sending the email with my details on Saturday, I've received a confusing email telling me to call their number in order to register for a replacement. Which I did and, surprise surprise, once you get through the menu to Note 7, they have the same message to go down the Email Support route.

I obviously replied and asked them to make up their mind already but did not get any response yet.
Is it just me, or are they trying to make this process as hard as possible so they would only replace a handful of devices, as a gift of finishing their maze?

Now I really wish mine started to melt already...
