So what's it going to take to not only remove this awful former chief executive from the NHS but those left running the Trust that should also be removed.

"Katrina Percy faced sustained calls to resign over Southern Health's failure to investigate hundreds of deaths.
The BBC has now discovered her new job did not exist previously and she was the only candidate for it."

"Ms Percy resigned last week but went straight into a new role at the trust on the same salary of £240,000 a year, including pension benefits."

Meanwhile the Government is still trying to stick it to Junior Doctors.

I read this earlier, what a complete joke! She should be removed from her position and never again allowed to work for the NHS!

There's something about "southern" as a prefix that makes you know you don't want to be dealing with a company...
"Southern Health"
"Southern Railways"
"Southern Electric"
"Southern.... fried chicken?"

I've never understood the civil service mentality of ' this person has made a shocking error.. let's make them leave with a high payout and insane pension'. Or in this case, keep them on at the same money?

Hundreds of deaths, all I can say is, Holy Macaroni, there have been people locked up for supposedly looking at someone the wrong way or brushing into them by accident.

Makes me sad. My brother has just left the NHS and some of what he has seen make this look insignificant compared to some of the management stuff :S

She should have been removed a long time ago.

I thought the same thing when I read the article. It's beyond me how someone has managed to maintain that kind of role and salary with the failures observed. Should be banned from health, gov and public services completely.

It's farcical.

In any other sector Percy would have been hauled into a court room by now. Not given a side step out of a sticky situation.

I wonder how much of an influence the rumour that HSE are investigating the Southern Health Trust had on her (finally)stepping to the side....

There's probably more to it than we know. She may well know where all the skeletons of buried at the trust and has been shuffled into a quiet roll with a juicy salary to buy her silence.

I can't think of another reason they wouldn't just use her as a scapegoat unless she is genuinely very talented, which seems unlikely given the backstory.
