Hi everyone,

I run a dual monitor setup, I use monitor 1 for gaming and monitor 2 for internet browsing, photo editing and general use. I have had my trusty BenQ XL2411T and BenQ XL2420T for around 3 years and am fancying an upgrade.

I am looking to go to around 27" on both new monitors and I want at least 144hz and 1440p on the gaming monitor I think. Now here is the potentially tricky bit, the 2nd general use monitor ideally needs to look similar so they look good side by side, however as I say only one is for gaming so gaming features on both is likely pointless and unnecessary extra spend. The stands do not need to look the same as I use a dual monitor mount so they won't even be used.

The acer predator series has caught my eye but I don't know enough about current monitors to really make an educated purchase/

TLDR: Need 2 new 27" monitors, one for gaming at 1440p. One for photo editing, internet and general use. Same brand but look similar enough to look good side by side.

Thanks everyone :)

How about the Dell 27" 1440 Gsync monitor paired with the Ultrasharp U2715H?

That's around the maximum I want to spend £1k. Even a much better gaming monitor for £600-£700 and the secondary for £400-£300 I would be happy with as long as they do what I need them to do.

I have never really put Dell and gaming monitors together to be honest, do they hold their own against the bigger gaming monitor brands?

Don't buy anything with ROG, Predator, Acer or Gsync in the name.
I've seen the specs and details of these names, whats wrong with them?
+1?

An Acer G-Sync Predator X34 monitor ticks 3 out of four names here! It's highly reviewed and was thinking about getting one...

Also OP, what sort of gaming do you do? If you play really fast shooters like CSGO and DOOM(?), you want a tn monitor due to the response time being actually noticeable. Otherwise get a 144Hz/60Hz IPS monitor for significant quality difference. I really like Dell for quality IPS monitors but they don't do 144Hz one :(.

Gaming wise I play all sorts of games, Battlefield, GTAV, Rocket League, FIFA, The Division. I also have a tendancy to run my xbox one through my monitor too...
