Hi there

I have a new absolute favourite of all monitors and yes I have requested one from LG, this monitor simply ticks every box for me. I currently have the 34UC88 which I love, but I want bigger, so have put in my sample request with LG for this new 38" monster, more screen, more resolution, more curve, better speakers, higher refresh, quicker response, FREESYNC, the list is endless.

LG thank you for releasing such a stunning monitor and keeping the price under 1k, quite an achievement.

OcUK has exclusivity on this panel for 2016 and stock arrives end of September but the first wave shall only be 100 units and we do expect them to sell out just like previous LG curves at release.

Check it out guys:

**** you Gibbo - tempting me with this after making me buy the XR34 =( Evil evil man.
Though tbh I think I'll wait for some 100Hz+ ultrawides, pref with 2160 vertical ;)

Link doesn't work, takes me to the homepage.

That is one hell of a screen though. I wish this sort of elite tech was a bit cheaper.

Also, shouldn't it be 'queen of curves' and have the usual scantily clad young lass as a demo image? :p

So, the 34" versions are

3440 x 1440 = 4,953,600 pixels

This 37.5" version is

3840 x 1600 = 6,144,000 pixels

That works out at 1,190,400 more pixels, or 24% more screen real estate than the 34" models, at roughly the same 110ppi pixel density.

Not too shabby!

I guess the fact that it's an IPS screen is what makes it so expensive? Especially for a freesync monitor, too. Very nice, though. :)
