Is there such an adapter that takes Passive POE and changes it to active POE?

Reason i ask is i purchased a AP, It is powered via Passive POE (50m from nearest power source) and has a POE pass through function. However the Pass through is Passive and i would like to add a IP CCTV camera near the AP's location which requires Active POE.

Which AP and IP CCTV is it? Passive is usually 24v and active (af or at) is usually at a higher voltage as well as other things to negotiate power levels so I'm not sure there's an adapter for that. You then need to consider how much power your PoE injector/switch is actually able to supply over the connection, and how much both the AP and camera uses.

It's a TP link CPE 510 for the access point and a Hikvision DS-2CD2042WD-I Camera

Does your CCTV camera have a DC input jack?

Yes it does (DC 12V), i was hoping there would be some form of splitter but the ones i have seen are all for active not passive POE.

Don't you just need a simple passive PoE splitter then? Like one half of this kit https://www.amazon.co.uk/AIR802-POEPASS-01-Injector-Splitter-Connector/dp/B003DLJNWE

Not sure how it's wired but assuming the voltages used on your AP and the camera are within the same sort of range of operation you should be fine.

Edit: You'll need the above and then a voltage regulator or similar on the output to drop the 24v from the TP Link injector down to 12v. But it will work.

See the edit re: power. There's loads of those splitters available, just get one that matches the TP Link power which is positive on 4+5 and negative on 7+8.

Quick update. I risked that adapater for a tenner and it does the trick. Not to do sime more drilling and get the brackets fitted to the house.
