7 day NHS impossible / NHS Brexit funding abandoned?

The losing side said there would be another war in Europe, that Russia would see us as more vulnerable, the country would collapse overnight.

The experts (so called) were wrong. All these threads point to is that the banned word on here that sounds like flow snakes are upset at being told no.

Did the remain side publish large posters saying "There will be WW3 and Russia will invade if you vot to leave"?

Did they say there could be another war in Europe? We were also told there would be an illegal emergency "punishment" budget.

Is it a requirement to have big posters to validate a lie?

Ww3 isnt a brexit prediction, its a prediction if we get the brexit/boris/trump trio all happening.

Besides, its not an issue with brexit, its an issue with then promising to spend money on the nhs and that now failing to materialise.

£350m a week wouldn't be nearly enough to plug the hole in the NHS. Brexit should happen, now lets start being positive and get on with it.

A slim majority of "people susceptible to being lied to" voted to ruin the country, now chop chop, lets get on with it.

Ignoring the £350m guff, this stood out as being the most interesting thing in the BBC article for me:

Seems to be a pretty chronic management failure to me. I wonder if anybody will be held responsible for this, or do the people who rely on the NHS get to shoulder the burden?

It is also the a consequence of austerity. Spending has just about kept (and will keep) up with inflation. Whilst in the same period the UK economy has grown (or will grow) much more.

This is only after the £8bn increase announced in 2015 after pleas from the NHS for more money.

We were already quite far behind in 2013 compared to other European nations often praised for their healthcare.

Have to wonder what went wrong with the NHS - should be a shining example of what we can do as a society instead we seem to be ******* it over for small minded agendas.

Three words probably sum it up quite well.

Constant political interference.

Did anyone say, as you said "there will be world war 3"?

Actually I really like the idea of a 7 day NHS but we don't have the funding or the doctors for it.

For example on my ward during the week we have:
13 FY1 to ST2 levels doctors
10 Reg's (ST 3+)
quite a few consultants

Over the weekend we have
1 junior
2 Reg's
no on site consultants

During the week we have so much work that we will each do 5 to 10 hours unpaid work per week to keep the system going.

There is no way in hell we could manage with less doctors on during the week so that the weekend can be covered.

There is no extra money allocated to employ more doctors and there are no more doctors to employ. Im luck in that I work in one of the best hospitals in the UK so we don't have unfilled posts but many hospitals simply can not fill posts. I decided I wanted to change jobs around a month ago, I put out 13 applications online on Sunday. I got a call Monday afternoon, Tuesday I had a Skype interview and by the end of the day I was offered the job.

They said it could cause war in Europe didn't they?

Nope.

He said it could destabilise Europe and how that is not good for the UK, which is a very reasonable statement to make.

Brexit supporters were making even more dire predictions about what would happen to the EU if Britain left.
