A young boy, son of two lesbians, gives a emotive speech in defence of gay marriage and total normalization... what are you thinking about?

well it is already legal over here so meh....

some states in the US are a bit slow to catch up with the times - next step is allowing multiple marriage

And your point is ? :

a ) Same sex couples can make good/bad parents

b ) Same sex marriage is good/bad

c ) Please click on my YT link you will never hear from me again

C :D

certainly create a healthy debate between points a) and b)... and I think that same sex couples can make good parents and same sex marriage is good!

There's no debate about it. There's no real reason same sex parents is a bad thing and there's nothing bad about same sex marriage...

The only debate here is C and I believe it's correct.

If people can be raised effectively by single parents of either gender, it stands to reason that they can be raised more effectively by two parents of the same gender, or either of the genders.

Being a good parent is about selfless dedication to raising your children to the best of your ability, sure your gonna make mistakes because nobody hands you a manual, but as long as you try your hardest to be a good parent then a good parent youll be.

the debate is necessary because there aren't a total normalization yet... the youtube link is not mine friend!

Nothing wrong with same sex parents, if the kid gets a decent upbringing then that is all that matters.

What I don't understand is why a whole religion has to change so that a minority can be part of it. Surely if that religion doesn't accept something that is a fundamental and inalterable part of yourself then you do not belong to that religion and a civil partnership is better suited.

Personally I'm neither gay nor religious so I don't care what people do but it still baffles me.

so its ok for an organisation to discriminate? why not extend that to any organisation?
such protection of religion is stupid and dangerous and yet so many atheists and antagonists think like that. Partly as its the norm to try and protect religions, and partly people just don't think about it.

Religions should not be protected and their should be zero laws protecting religion.
If they don't want to marry gay couples, don't hold marriages. It should not be acceptable to discrimabte in this day and age for a diary tale that increasingly less and less people belive.
Laws should be for everyone not any one sub group.

Religion is based on belief. If they believe gay people shouldn't get married then that is what they believe. If you don't believe that then you are not a member of that religion surely? Why would you want to be?

Please don't put words into my mouth either, I made no implication about discrimination being okay.

The moment religion gets introduced everyone has to take a step back at the risk of offending.

Same sex marriage to a couple that actually care - Religion opposses

Arranged/Forced marriage to a stranger - Religion upholds

Stuff religion in all its shape and outdated forms.
