F1 2016

Nearly got into the 1:43 times, I'm like so close. I keep messing up the last two corners. But still a fairly respectable time none to the less. Recovered from the hangover it seems. Have to try Bahrain again.

I have the G920 also, got fed up stomping so hard on the brake pedal, so am now using the clutch pedal to brake. Seems to work ok!

If you guys don't mind I'll try adding some friends from the OCUK F1 2016 group & put some times in soon.

Don't worry, quick I'm not!

Actually I just whacked up the saturation in game AND also increase the sensitivity in the LGC.

Works an absolute charm and I absolutely LOVE this wheel. Much better than the G25. I find I'm able to take lines much more cleanly as the motor in this thing is so much LESS eratic than the G25.

On the second lap of Monza I found I was able to go another second quicker, and I wasn't even trying...

Will put in some laps tomorrow :)

That's good, glad you cracked it!

Now I'm struggling with the wheel rotation, turned the in game saturation up to 65 in the end and it was nearly there, also calibrated in windows devices settings.

In logitechs gaming software, changed it to 360 degrees and even went as low as 220, but it had no effect, still felt like it was under steering.

Maybe I missed the "allow game to change" tick box. Will check it tomorrow.

Yes changing it to 360 should do it, I did have allow game to change ticked also. I found I didn't need to do anything else with the steering tbh.

Actually what does the "allow game to change" do exactly? I don't quite get this option!

That should be an override function so if the game has its own settings and you can tailor them in game then it should override the windows defaults.

Where are you guys finding these settings in the Logitech software? I'm not seeing the "allow game to change" tick box anywhere.

Put in about an hour last night trying to get the right settings and I'm getting there slowly. Annoyingly the first lap I did was with completely default settings and was my best so far. But I can't repeat it when I go back now. Lots of practice needed but this is my first racing game. By the end of the season I might be able to post respectable times in here! :D

Thanks.

And damn, 25 saturation? That barely does anything?
I depress the pedal quite a lot to get a reasonable amount of braking output!

What the wheel calibration option? Where can I find this exactly in the sofrware?

G920/G29 Wheel Calibration see link> maybe kept as a sticky

I know, but I have no room for a wheel and to be honest I had a full fanatic kit which I used probably 20 times due to the hassle of setting it up and pulling it down when finished that I sold it!

Pad does have the advantage of lock to lock time but my thumb dexterity is poor :(

Be very little in it, depends how you set your wheel up.

Yes some are very good with a pad and some with a wheel.

Tried a pad in the beginning and found a wheel suited me, l may not be the fastest but l still enjoy trying to beat you youngins.:D

Nothing beats arrow keys on Geoff Crammonds on the Amiga 600 :P No need for fine control there!

Anyway, I think I have found my new Ally.. a bottle of Pinot Noir... Just beat my best time by quite a bit !

Hopefully most of you will have got my friend request (Benoire), be interesting to see how I stack up now... currently 3rd out of 4 :P

That's a bit more like it! ;)

1.42's :( so fast.

I'm so bad around those slow left handers, I know that's where all my time is going. Your sector 2 time is almost 1 second faster than mine but it honestly feels like I'm pushing so hard.

I know I can get into the 1:43s , I just need to hook up a perfect lap.

I also had a much better time with Bahrain last night. Shaved over 5 secs off. I'll have another go tonight, if I can get into the 1:43s l will be happy.
