MPs call for medical cannabis to be made legal

Funny we were just talking about this subject on a cancer group I am a member of on FB. Some say it helps whilst for me meh. But like all drugs effects will vary from patient to patient.

What it needs is research, I really don't know why the trials are not being funded. It could be a huge money maker for this country if we were able to pinpoint the helpful compounds and turn it into a regulated drug.

I'm all for it as long as it's in tablet form so no one else around them has to put up with the stench !

This blanket that the government have put on cannabis is just ridiculous. When they say stifled in the article, that seems really accurate. What we see is the intentional ignorance on the part of these MPs just because of cultural stigma.

It's really perplexing...I know it's anecdotal, but if you look on youtube or find documentaries about medical cannabis, there are so many people that benefit so heavily from, for example, use of cannabis oil which doesn't even contain the psychoactive component that the government hates so much - the part that makes cannabis fun.

Considering the amount of obviously harmful drugs we use in a medical setting that then get abused by reccy users it seems a very strange stance to take.

Unless you have heavily invested in other meds, so if people start using medicinal cannabis legally, how much will those big businesses lose?

It should stay illegal, I know a few users and they're a mess.

They look terrible all the time, they don't work and barely see the light of day unless they're seeing their dealer or signing on. :(

That's part of the point isn't it were not talking for the most part about just dishing out the raw plant but developing medicines using parts of it so the big pharma will still get their pound of flesh.

I know a few people like that on alcohol as well...

Keep it illegal because a few dossers you know make it look bad, they'd likely be in a similar situation, canabis or not.

Whilst I'm not surprised, I bet you know loads of people who smoke cannabis and are perfectly normal, hold down jobs, don't sign on, definitely go outside etc. Your perspective is very limited.

but people like that exist due to alcohol, prescription drugs or just because that's they way they are, watch channel 4 for a bit and you will see.

Public attitudes towards weed are changing. I would not be surprised if MPs call for medical cannabis to be made legal.
