OCUK RWYB Drag Meet - Saturday September 17th - Santa Pod Raceway

We need a list of those meeting at Watford Gap and those at Tesco?

0-60 is about 4.5 seconds, 1/4 should be very low 13s.

:D It does feel very very quick. Hope it's okay and you can get traction as it'll be interesting to see what you run.

I'll probably ride down with Tom/Acme as he's coming up tomorrow all going well  Will be good to put a face to some names :)

If he gets traction he'll be quick that's for sure.

I'm yet to try launching my car, so I think I'll need to get in some practice launches tomorrow on the way down :D

Anyone fancy doing the videos from the stand of us running ? I'm bringing 2 x GoPro4 + 1 x other video camera.

I really would like to get a video of my car running against that Alto for the lulz, when not running I don't mind recording. :D

Not sure what its like where you are, but it is incredibly wet and rainy here today. Hopefully its not chucking it down at Pod!

I've launched the Sloda loads of times. Got it perfected I think... Theres plenty of time to think about how to modulate the clutch, so it wasn't challenging...

Checked the car over, and aside from the entire aux system being broken (needs new belt, tensioner, possibly pulley, possibly compressor, and makes some rather concerning nosies) everything is in order! :p

Hope the belt doesn't snap. Or the pulley goes loose.

Belt looks OK, tensioner rattles and something is clicking loudly when cold which I think is the alternator pulley or the compressor clutch or something!

Already have a new belt and tensioner sitting at home, and have a thread on Briskoda to get a second opinion on what the noise could be, so I can get the bits for that too. :)

Pod showing rain til about 10 tomorrow and then heavy cloud. Looks changeable. I doubt there will be many runs tomorrow so probably will bail out as not I'm not running I don't fancy standing around in the rain to watch no racing. I'll make a final decision later but looking doubtful for me.

Guess we're not allowed to run in the wet?

I think it would make very little difference to me... But I can see why some of the cars with more oomph may have issues!

As long as Jumper118 doesn't pull out and there are still some people going, all is well in my little bubble. :p

Met office rain shows a possible light shower early morning then dry the rest of the day

Track in like an ice rink in the wet

Different compound I guess...

Also, that weather report doesn't look too hopeful! :(

I think 'dry' may be a little over ambitious looking at that.

Supposed to be driving to Northants tonight but its all looking a bit uncertain now...

Will have to do something as a trio of you, Hypernuts and me as a backup plan. :p

Oh dear, if the weather looks like its going to be bad I probably wont make the trip either, will keep an eye on things through out today.

I'm only panicking cos I'll only find out after I've driven 140 miles and slept on someones spare bed, if I wake up and its raining and nobody turns up that will suck a bit, cos I'll have to put up with him all day. :p

Question, if we pay the £35 and don't get to run cos of the weather (whether it be because there isn't enough time for everyone to run in dry spells, or if it gets totally rained off and nobody can run) do we get refunded the £25 portion..? :)

I'm not sure on their definition of rained off but if it happens then you can claim a voucher to use another time. I prebooked my entry and RWYB sign on weeks ago

Hi there

Weather in UK at moment is like Asia, totally unpredictable, one day 30c and sunny, next day violent thunderstorms and then sunny and then flooding, then sunny.

I shall take a look at the report tonight if it looks dry odd shower I shall most likely show up. :)

If it looks like frequent rain I shall probably just go dyno instead to see what my CAI has done. :D
