Motherboard will not see SAPPHIRE DUAL-X AMD RADEON HD 7870

Hi

I have installed a SAPPHIRE DUAL-X AMD RADEON HD 7870 into my asus p5n73-am motherboard , But it will no see it on boot and i have to use onboard GPU. I have reset cmos and and and all power cables are connected to it. I have set the primary boot to the pci-e port . I read on toms hardware the someone solved this issue by resting the graphics card but i cant find any info on how to do this. any help would be great .

That's a fairly old board, have you got the latest BIOS on it.

yep i have upgraded to the latest bios. every time i boot with the gpu in its says boot interupted load defaults

Re-seating I think you mean, which is probs a good idea. Try cleaning out the slot with compressed air before trying again.
