BMW 3 GT

What's the difference between the 3 Series Gran Turismo and the 4 Series GranCoupe?

Both are hatchbacks
Both are based on the F30 3 Series
Both seat 5

What am I missing?

That's actually incorrect the 4GC has 4 +1 seats where as the GT has 5 seats.

And yes I have one.

You also sit a little higher up rather than the "low rider" approach you get with the 4 GC.

You get loads of leg room in the rear, as has already been stated none of the panels on the 3 series can fit on GT as it is a little longer.

I enjoy my 3.0 Gt M-Sport very much I have had no issues with it.

I personally like the styling of it. I looked at 5 series then I looked out a 4 GC but I settled on the GT I just preferred it.

It's a shame the 3/4 series have the exact same interior as the 1 series, doesn't make it feel like it's much of a move up the range.

I dont see the point of the 3 gt, why would you buy one over a Tourer, which is by far the prettier car.

BMW have done a rubbish job at copying Audi with the A5 SB/A7, they are nowwhere near as ugly as the 3/5 GT.

I would have to disagree with that.

They look totally different to me:confused:

Totally different? Really?

Here are 3 interiors - a 1 Series, a 4 Series and a 5 Series.

Which one is the 4 Series and which of its stablemates is it most similar too..

Well a year in and I am still enjoying MY GT no complaints from me.

No, that's not what I'm telling you at all.

I'm saying that the 3/4 Series interior is incredibly similar to the 1 Series - far more similar than it is to the 5 Series.

I believe this is fairly clear from the three photographs.

This is a shame - traditionally it was the opposite and the 3 Series felt like a small 5 Series. The E46 particularly was like this.

The shiny plastic bits along the dash and around the gear tick area on the 5 look gash.

Not getting the fuss, 5 series looks no better than the 3, just marginally different in some areas.

It's just the photograph - it's usually not plastic, it's various bits depending on trim level and spec - usually it's brushed aluminium or proper wood with a lacquered finish.

Whereas on the 3 Series it actually is just plastic...
