looks clean, had any issues with it along the way ?

Nope nothing at all! Its been a great car only had it a year but its just not for me

No advisories on mot just needed a few bushes or something which they did

Just dont know what to ask for it/what to expect realistically

i reckon around 6k - 6.5k

Ouch really?

Im only using auto trader but any similar to mine have the worse trim and over 100k miles etc and they are priced around 8k so im struggling :D obviously not being msport etc isnt great

Thanks for thoughts though, will check back soon see if we get any more and come to a price

Might be talking complete cobblers here as I lack knowledge but there might be people out there who specifically don't want m-sport suspension so would rather have an SE in better condition / options etc.

Over 60k miles may put some off in terms of warranty but to be honest an 08 plate diesel should be over that mark anyway.

6-6.5k sounds too low to me assuming private sale. Ignoring cars with over 120k on the clock, the cheapest one within 100 miles of me is on at £8k.

Autotraders valuation puts it at £6,560 for private, and £5,470 for p/x.

You may well get more for it. People tend to list it high, and accept a bit of haggling.

I absolutely hate car searching, it's one of those tasks i most despise.
I was searching for my car for about 4 months, quite actively as well, i reckon i must have created a list of maybe 300-400. After so many you get to know whether the price they're offering is in-line with the market, or clearly over-pricing. I just remember coming across quite a few, where the asking price was quite laughable.

No i agree, i think SE was more appealing to me for a smoother ride actually as it was intended as a car for us and our, at the time, new born!

Its too hard to call but my experiance has been the same as yours, cant find any in condition like mine for less than 8k, might be worth throwing it on at something like 8.5k and just see if anyone shows interest but what if thats too low! Lolz

Wow looks like a nice motor for 6k! I'll be looking for an older luxury style motor when I come to purchase again (sadly a few years off!)

£6k is far too low for that - if it has full BMW history, low owners and is tidy inside and out it'll be worth far closer to £8k.

You may even want to ask more than that. It's an "affordable" 6 cylinder diesel BMW with relatively low miles, it shouldn't be a hard car to shift to the general public

Phew! im not going mad then, making me feel a bit more hopefull thanks!

Its a lot of car for the money either way! Must admit its not all bmw services, some are by other places but a majority are bmw i believe

M Sport's were available since 2004 so the fact they exist for £6k doesn't stop a much newer SE being worth more than £6k.

True, buyers weigh up soec to age/mileage i imagine and decide whats more important to them personally

like i said it looks tidy, end of the day its an 8 year old bmw and there are a lot of the E60 about.
the se also came out in 2004 and look hardly no different to the 2008 model.

ask for what you like and i hope you get it.
