Can anyone identify this spider?

Of course you realise, where there is one, there may be others.

Your only recourse at this time is to burn down an area of about 10 square miles from the spot you saw the spider, then to salt the earth. Only then will you be safe.

:D

I found one in my garage. I heard rustling and thought I had mice so started hunting for it only to find a huge web and a spider making a rustling noise every time it ran across its web. I backed out slowly :(.

It wasn't even huge but it certainly looked ****ed off.

Nope! :p

It's called the Arachnus Mortis. Its life cycle consists of paralysing its victim (usually large mammals such as cows, sheep, humans, dogs, etc) with a single bite, then laying its eggs under the victim's eyelids. The young hatch, and feast on the victim's eyeballs, before eventually burrowing deeper into the skull to feed from the protein-rich brain matter. This is not always fatal, but if not, results in severe dementia, and of course blindness.
