Hi there, I'm building my first gaming PC (long overdue!) and was wanting some advice on which GTX 1070 to buy. There's a few types, what is the difference?

Advice would be greatly appreciated : )

Generally people will just tell you to get the version from their favoured brand.

I tend to like MSI. A lot of people criticise them for using the same cooler design across multiple PCBs but that doesn't seem to stop from them being among the coolest and most quiet every kind of card they make.

Yup, it's all preference at the end of the day.

Speaking subjectively, I'd avoid MSI like the plague. worst customer support I've ever experienced. Defective 970 on release and they refused to RMA it, I had to threaten the vendor I bought it from with small claims or I'd have been stuck with a £400 dud.

EVGA is good they have a very good customer service and the rma is in the uk,plus you can buy extra warranty to help out.

I had to RMA my MSI 670 as one of the fans wasn't working. I had a new one the day after they tested it.

I tend to favour EVGA.

I like the design and build of their cards, plus I hear good things about their warranties and customer service.

But there's not much in it to be honest. Pick the one you like on the best deal.

Just stay away from the blower type coolers.

My personal favourite is the Zotac AMP Extreme, but they are all very good.

However the Gigabyte G1 with the FREE 700W PSU would be very hard to resist, best offer out there at the moment.

Or if you like reference our Zotac 1070 FE deal is unbeatable at only £368.99 :)

AND you get a free copy of Gears of War 4 for your brand new PC!:D
If I was building a new rig something definitely I would consider - I had my eyes on the AMP edition for some time now though.

I received my new zotac 1070 amp at the weekend from Overclockers and its superb. Almost silent. As for msi warranty I had the 280X with leaky fans sent back via Overclockers to msi and had a replacement card in just under a month.

Brilliant card indeed! did you manage to bench it?
Just under a month ? I wouldn't have been pleased with that in all honesty!

Ran a few of the usual benchmarks but not messed with overclocking yet but I have noticed it has the Samsung memory so might clock well.

I have the Zotac Amp and it's brilliant card - very quiet too. Just remember it's pretty big (actually huge) so make sure you have the room for it in your case.

Does anybody have the founders edition? I'm beginning to be tempted by the 1070 and now there's the zotac with 5 years warranty, even more so. But, i wondered since it's a fairly well managed card in terms of temperature, whether the reference blowers are much noisier than the non reference cards?
