Now I have just taken the update from MS that updates my windows 10 pro x64 to the windows 10 feature update 1607 version.

I wish now to use the very best and newest/latest tool that blocks/disables all the useless garbage that is on windows 10 as I can see quite a lot appears to be back again

Could someone possibly please give me a link to the latest best tool etc please ? or even tell me where to get it at ?

I fully appreciate and understand that some people find all those added on things as being brilliant, but please just remember some of us dont want or need all this, cheers :)

personally, I've been using spybot anti-beacon.

Used their anti-malware (spybot search and destroy) for ages and trusted it. So far, this looks to be doing the job.

As recommended here: http://www.extremetech.com/computin...10-anniversary-update-to-protect-your-privacy

thanks mate, looked at that as you mentioned it etc, but going by all the stuff it says and the comments it looks like either way MS are screwing us and its hard to defend against it, I dont mind the spying side too much as I have nothing to hide but I still am against spying, what I hate is all the resource guzzling apps running in the background and I would imagine there are plenty, I hate them all to be honest man, I am not into all those features at all, I totally HATE windows 10 for this garbage man :(

Just uninstall them. Right click > uninstall.

"SPYING" you say? Windows 10?

What is this spying of which you speak?

I don't use Windows 10 yet but I am keen to learn about it since I have no doubt that Microsoft will eventually force everyone onto it.

Use the Technet powershell script against your install.wim file before you install 10.
while not technically there to remove the metric data 10 sends back to MS but it will remove all the crud apps that get installed by default.

Not sure it will work 100% against the anniversary update as they have added/changed a few things in that.

Setting the privacy options barely scratches the surface. There are dozens and dozens of other bit's reporting back. The only way to stop them all is to block them with your firewall.

Spybot Anti Beacon is good but you need to redo some of them after updates as they quite often get re-enabled.

CCleaner can uninstall all the bloatware you don't want. That was one of the first things I did after I got 10 up and running. Updates such as the Anniversary Update reinstalls them but it doesn't take long to get rid of them again.

Ok, I settled on Spybot Anti-Beacon as it looks like quite a few of you are using it, plus as "darael" says I also used O&Q shutup10 too.

I just selected either the recommended settings on both programs (I think, lol) or was it apply, hmmmm, cant remember now, brain's like a teabag man, lol.

Put it this way, are there any settings that must and must not be applied ?

Plus, I dont seem to see both programs running in the background, do they or are they the type that need to be run manually ?

Cheers .

I wouldn't run more than one tool for this. There's more chance you could break something but I suppose if you keep backups from before applying any changes, you can't go wrong.

The spybot one applies it's settings and doesn't need to run in the background. When installing did you choose the apply on startup option? That will make sure everything is applied again after Windows updates.

p.s, whats this windows 10 upgrade assistant I now see in add/remove programs in control panel, cant remember that before, hmmm

Have a look in the Task Scheduler. If you did choose the option, you should have:

Task Scheduler Library > Safer-Networking > Spybot Anti-Beacon > Refresh Anti-Beacon immunization
