Child sex abuse inquiry (3rd resignation)

It's almost...almost like they're hitting brick walls within the establishment...

Under her generous package she had become one of Britain’s highest paid public servants with a £360,000 salary, a £110,000 accommodation allowance and regular free return flights to New Zealand for her and her family.

Since taking on the role she had spent more than 70 days overseas, either on holiday or working abroad.

She also admitted in a preliminary hearing last week that she did not have a clear understanding of aspects of English law.

I suspect she realised she was in danger of being made to look foolish.

The whole thing is a farce, anyone who heads this is going to be a puppet of the establishment to give them the outcome they want

I suspect she realised she was in danger of being made to look foolish.

People struggle to get employment in jobs they have 10+ years experience in, how in the world is it possible to get paid like that and have no idea what your doing,

70 days holiday, bit ambiguous. It's 30 days holiday, fair enough what the hell was 40 days of inquiry travel, to NZ and AUS given she lives and has family only there.
It's almost like they employed someone to do a horifically bad job on purpose. ehhh hummmm.

The government make their own rules on many aspects of remuneration as a MP or 'associate' and the benefits that come with being a part of that club. If I had the same influence at work on these matters I would have subsidised meals in the canteen, free travel, accomodation allowences (2nd home too as it's just not fair to expect people to relocate....) and employ my missus on a huge salary to look after my needs as I travel the world looking for spare parts......

It's a sham and many of us all are sick to death of this - massive reforms need to be made...

Why was she is Australia & New Zeland on inquiry business for 40 odd days? Surely Chair persons don't do the running around, shouldn't she have underlings to do the leg work for her?

The main focus of this inquiry should be to prevent it ever happening again. It should be tightly focussed on that.

At least for the first report stage.

This inquiry is a poisoned chalice and could take 20 years to complete with its current remit. What sane lawyer would want to be involved with an inquiry that takes so long and has so much government interference?

Or the fact that Royals can't be charged or investigated for crimes.

Erm, yes they can.

The only Royal who is immune to prosecution is the reigning monarch, ie H.M The Queen. Anyone else within the Royal Family can be prosecuted, if they commit a crime.

The remit of the inquiry is so broad that it's impossible to implement.

Any finding will cause trouble for anyone involved, especially the person most publically associated with the inquiry. Any finding other than "everyone is absolutely guilty of everything" will get them pilloried for "blaming victims" and for "covering up a conspiracy".

So farcical bribes are necessary to get anyone to take the job, but they quit as soon as possible in order to limit the damage.

Even if someone is willing to take the job in good faith and actually try to do it properly regardless of the damage that will do to them, they've got no chance of success and would waste decades on it anyway.

I don't even know how you'd go about investigating something such as this any records surely would have been destroyed and ones that haven't probably are under some kind of super top secret "if they ask don't tell" rating.
