So.... not my road but a friends.

Is this place ok to park? Legally that is, say if someone complained to... whoever, council, police etc...

As far as I can tell, parking here is ok as:

No1) Theres no cross hatched lines to indicate the area must be kept clear

No2) Theres no signage to state no parking here

No3) The driveway is not being blocked

Looks like it's been purposly put there for parking O_o

That was my thought, so I parked up there myself to come back to the car and find a rather snotty note that "it is a turning area, and youre blocking my drive" (I was parked where the white nissan is), given they know exactly what house im currently working at, they could easily have come asked me to move if there was a problem.

Am now considering dropping up the defender into the spot for a few days :D

I think the logic in your first post is sound - if there are no signs or road markings indicating you can't park there, then you can park there. From the picture, it doesn't look like you're blocking anyone's drive - at most, you're making it slightly more difficult for someone to get in or out of their drive. Too bad for them.

You can't fully tell, but surely the dropped kerb has been raised back up by that point? In which case you should be fine.

That said, I do often find it infuriating people parking in turning areas. But if they aren't marked specifically as turning areas, then crack on.

Leave a note next next time telling them to do one.

Why don't you park at the house you're working at? Yea parking there to prove a point is propa funny! Don't be surprised if they damage your car...!

Well as you may not be able to deduce, from the bag of sand on the drive in the picture the drive is full of building materials.

Likewise, all other parking spots on the road have been taken up by the other 3 houses having work done and their tradespeople (2 specific parking bays are taken up by 2 skips from different houses). The next place to part is half a mile down the road.

Where I parked is basically out of the way unless you're a total pleb who can't drive. The area I left as big enough for a long wheel base fedex van to turn around in as well as a small dumper truck, so anyone in a car could easily turn around there.

As you can also see, there is a full car width room to pull off the drive also.

Sorry what? Parking bays are for cars not skips. Id be leaving a snotty note on their skip/door.

I thought it was that house that left a note! So the house to the right of your car (left in picture) left you a note that they struggled to get out their drive? Is their car some sort of earth moving sized vehicle?
