UK Log cabin/lodge break.

Hi all,

Before I start going through hundreds that are available... Can anyone recommend a nice log cabin that is on a lake with a hot tub etc for a weekend break in December. Preferably in England or Wales.

Interested in this as well as a getaway party weekend lodge. Not necessarily for winter months.

6 of us stayed there in one of the bigger lodges. Off the top of my head it was around the £600 mark for 4 nights.

No hot tubs or lakes, but a client of ours who sells stoves recently added this place to their news articles.

Place looks lovely for going and chilling out.

Private Hobbit House/Yurt with Hot tub that is heated with a wood burner.

And they have 2 private lakes near that I believe you can fish and even cook what you catch

(I think you can anyway).

Another recommendation for forestholidays, both times have been great.

Forest of dean is near the Welsh border which supposably has a lake too and with silver/gold cabins, you get your private outdoor hot tub. Gold gets you a log burner and even a "treehouse" bedroom option if you want one.

i'll also +1 for forest holidays - stayed in strathyre up in Scotland a few years back and it was great, think it was over new years. right on the lake, snow all round, forests, peace, quiet - totally perfect.

though it appears now they are trying to 'fleece' the customer base a bit with costly add ons - such as wifi!

that said, this thread has just convinced me to go and book for a week in Janaury - be a great way to get over the Christmas blues!
