Looking for a new phone and had high hopes for this....but the price

I haven't bought an S7 or a Moto Z yet because of the price (waiting for some drops/deals) and this comes in at £100 than both offering hardly anything more, in fact probably less.

Not that impressed with the device but the price is ridiculous. The only thing in Googles favour is this is a Pixel phone rather than a Nexus phone so they didn't have to continue the Nexus friendly pricing. Still, hope it flops and they're forced to go back to value for money next year

I think it's purely a case of everyone being spoilt by Google subsidising prices for all these years.

The moment they start charging premium prices, you've all decided to bail on them when they probably need the support more than ever.

I don't think so. I think people are comparing these prices with what other companies sell their phones for. These prices are higher than LG,Samsung Huawei and HTC sell phones for.

Ive owned multiple Nexus (Nexus One,4,7) and still have a Nexus 9.

I can fully recommend the OnePlus for the price.

I bought the Nexus 6 at release for the £500 price tag, £100 more on top for something that isn't much better for my uses isn't good value for money.

Yes but your getting a best in class camera with stock Android which is what everyone craves. Add all the extra bells and whistles and you can understand why they are charging a premium for it.

If the phone was £200 cheaper then everyone would be wanting it, so as I said, Google are paying the price for keeping their prices low for so long that the moment they move into the premium tier, everyone starts moaning and bailing out on them.

I've just looked at my Nexus 6p order, £579 so the XL is £240 more expensive and its not a upgrade IMHO.

Smaller screen, no front speakers, 10% better CPU/memory

Not worth £240

Exactly, I don't even own the 6P & I think its not an upgrade for the cost of it.

Google have failed hard this year. Sad.

so with October the 4th supposedly the day that will be as big if not bigger than the day google announced it was creating android, does anyone agree now that it's over?

Clearly google are going into hardware and it's about time. I do feel Routers are still just so stupid and not advanced at all. They work fairly easy but what google showed to me was a clear improvement that was needed.

Thie google home stuff too is interesting, but i want to see more home automated stuff. I've stuck with lightwave RF as it's the best option, but i want something google made to really take full advantage of complete control and communication between devices.

I could easily afford it but I am not willing to pay that much for something that is worth around £400-£500 tops.

Theres a difference between being outpriced & knowing when they are just taking the mick with pricing.

To add to this post, Tell me what this does differently that my Nexus 6 doesn't do, Apart from having a better camera which isn't a big interest to me.

What ever way you want to spin it - it's still a pile of steaming cack.

Design is crap, the only redeeming features are stock Android and a great camera. That's not enough to overcome the bland design and stupid price.
