Hilariously, UKIP's newly elected leader has reportedly resigned already although the party has yet to confirm it. Family reasons, apparently.

There's no doubt that Farage is the most successful politician of my lifetime, I'm not convinced that UKIP itself deserves much credit. Without Farage they'd be an irrelevant collection of swivel eyes loons; with Farage and heavily aided by Farage obsession of the UK media they enjoyed a brief dance in the spotlight.

I agree with the sentiment that they've achieved their objective and should quietly disappear and perhaps this is a sign that they ultimately will.
